This is definitely true. We have to HOPE Gelhardt only misses a couple of games max. Again, I'm not defending Speakman. We're all disappointed by this.
I am really perplexed as to why we are short on strikers Any team at any level will have more than one Very strange indeed
We still scored goals at a good rate though. Not excusing the lack of second striker but I’m not sure its as simple as put a striker in and we’d win games
Are we all ready for the interview tomorrow that says Diallo, Lihadji, Clarke and Roberts can all play up top or around that position?
The last time it happened it literally proved it gives you less chance without one. No idea why we seem to be happy to risk it all again. Poor.
We have a number 9, the lad we signed is a out n out striker. It's not like last time when we had bo strikers
HUGE pressure on Gelhardt now. Hope he’s up to it! At least he’s been playing for Leeds who have a big fan base, so coming to Sunderland that won’t be alien to him.
Got very good reviews in the premier league last year. he's not like he's just been playing PL2. Speak to some Leeds fans and they'll say they wouldn't have stayed up without him.
We did still score goals. Simms’ return coincided closely with Ballard’s. We continued scoring goals, conceded slightly less and won more games. We have Geldhardt and Lihadji to add in to the mix of what we had for that 8 game period too.
Nobody's happy with not signing another striker, but you are talking as if it's the same as when we had no striker, yet we do have a striker
On the plus side, looks like Pritchard is staying after those earlier rumours of their lass wanting to head back down south.
