To be fair, we should have had contingencies in place based on the fact that Stewart has already missed a significant portion of the season. I’m a big fan of Speakman and he’s signed good players, but taking us into the back half of the season with one striker who we have on loan and is untested in a Sunderland shirt is poor planning.

Agree 100%, and it's also completely different from the Kaboul situation years ago when the lad was allowed to go for personal reason and he was the absolute linchpin of our defence.

We’re far from it and playing marvellous football, if we don’t get anyone in, let’s just keep faith with our players and let them enjoy their games, I’m certainly enjoying being a Sunderland fan more than I can remember.
