Nah he’ll be fine, European cup tie ruling got binned a few years back.

It rolls over after the group stages now. So IIRC if you played qualifiers then moved you couldn’t play group stages, but if you move in January you’re fine for knockouts.

Porro Watch
He's having his medical right now, according to Romano and churnalised by the BBC and Skyte Sports

So far there has been no confirmation whether or not we've locked him in the room with a trio of ex-Spetsnaz bouncers keeping a close eye on him, while everyone at the club is mindful of not answering phonecalls from a Lisbon area code

Unfortunately we haven't saved anything, we've actually overpaid as we've paid the amount of the expired release clause plus relinquished 15% of Marcus Edward's sell on clause.

We've been bent over by Sporting when it was completely avoidable had we just paid his clause when it was active earlier in the window.
That’s not true. The release clause required cash up front. Paying in instalments always requires more money in the long run but is cheaper in practice. The equivalent is about Euro 50m so we are only worse off if Edwards gets sold quickly for 25m or more.

I find it really weird to be honest, especially as he said a few weeks back about young players need to be first team ready in order for him to play them, how do they get first team ready if he doesn't allow them out on loan to prove themselves and develop? It's a really warped thought process that he has and I think a large number of young players are stagnating because of it, this is KWP but on a multiple scale.
The alternative is playing them, which he also won't do.
It's stockpiling youth, but we don't seem to have any plan for them, so they stagnate.
There's no passageway into the first team, so what's the point?

Conte's judgement on new signings is quite a concern though, a lot of his Chelsea one's didn't amount to much and it was he who pressed for Richarlison...

He's also not winning much with his tactics and selections at present either.
It’s always a mistake to sign the players the manager wants unless he knows them well because he has managed them before

Edwards will comfortably go for over £30m.

We’ve been bent over, no two ways about it.

Yeah as I said it’s just so warped.

We’re doing to them what we done to KWP. I just don’t understand it to be honest.

It sounds like we used an intermediary because Paratici is ****ed.
They messed it up and Levy had to go in personally and get it done with little time left.
The whole thing's quite a clusterfuck and it makes you wonder what's going on with the Juve fallout.

Worth noting that even when up front release clauses are paid, most clubs will finance that somehow because most clubs don’t have 40m in cash lying about.
