I like Wright, obviously a good bloke and must be great around the place and all that, and was good in the run in towards the play offs, but I'm always worried when he comes on in a game we're going to concede due to his mistake.
We cant sign loans after the window closes or recall loads. There is the emergency loan which can be used for GKs so if patto was to get injured I think we would be allowed to bring someone in on loan
Agreed, he would get game time there. Id be sad to see him leave but if he isnt going to play much then no point keeping him just because hes good around the place
Same mate, hes too slow for this level now and hes best in the centre of a back 3 now but we dont play that. I hope he gets a good move and plays lots as hes a top pro n bloke
I've been expecting Wright to leave for a while so I wouldn't be surprised. I think he's decent at this level but he's been surpassed by a converted midfielder and we're only going to sign more CBs in the future and push him further away from the first team. Good time for him to move on imo.
By all accounts he's being given the option. I guess the message is "we would like to keep you but if you want to go, you can"
Agree. Demoralising for the fans and for these young players. I'm all for us going up,but we have to be ready. Having been through all those years of fighting at the bottom,I'm not ready for that again.I'm not going to be happy watching our young players get taken apart by City,Utd,Mags etc.etc. £200m or no £200m. I'm really enjoying my football again watching this team at the minute and I think we can build on it,but we need to be careful what we wish for. For me,doing a Forest is not an option. Imo,our support is always brilliant, but it's extra brilliant currently because of the exciting football we're seeing. Ideal for me would be that we just miss out this season, recruit as we have been for the squad strengthening in the summer, seeing our young players improving exponentially and take this league by storm next season, then adding the two or three bits of extra class improvements necessary to sustain a solid PL place. When we go up,we need to be able to properly compete. That's when we reap the benefits of the £200m......spending it wisely to improve, not to firefight.
Clocks ticking. Hope we can get at least one striker in. Would be typical Sunderland if we don't though.
