Wouldn’t have been very easy to flog Ayling last summer when he was recovering from surgery. Glad we didn’t, he is still our best right back. If he leaves this summer, he goes with my eternal thanks, been a wonderful player and personality for my club.

Respect to Rads from me. Prepared to upgrade the squad with players of a good age and lose value on his older assets to make it a transition rather than having a car boot sale to grab a few quid. It’s not Football Manager he is playing.

Cant believe FFP can be of any real concern. If our nett spend has been £32 million since the beginning of last summer and we have the 18th highest turnover in world football everyone else must be in trouble. What is Forest’s nett spend? They didn’t even have any players at the end of last season. Fulham and even Bournemouth are shelling out 10’s of millions on players.
Plus isn’t ffp averaged over three seasons or something. We had a zero net spend last year. I suspect Radz is pulling out all the stops to maintain pl status. Financially relegation would be a catastrophe for him personally. As you know myself and radz were in constant contact for a month. I like to think he took my advice on board

FFP - a few outlets have said that’s the reason we’re needing to wait until the summer before paying for Weston, it is to meet those needs.

In November 2021 it was reported that we could have a net spend of £99m over the next three years

Marcos cannot fault anything you say and on Oly Casey that surprised me too because Casey and Cresswell were the best CB partnership in the league and before Cresswell made the step up from the U18s Casey was Struijk partner so you would think his pedigree would have ensured success, but hey ho…

That's a good deal him being a loan. Will there be a relegation clause?.
Think the “buy option” clause should mean we are not forced to buy him if we go down. But a max purchase price of £35m next summer if we do which includes the loan fee, so not a bad deal for both clubs if we stay up :emoticon-0148-yes:

I
Yeah there is apparently, and also once he plays 10 games we are obliged to buy <ok>
I fully expect greenwood /gelhardt and a couple more of the u21s to be sold this summer.Sunderland had a guy injured yesterday giving joffy his chance to play next league game. If he takes that chance we may well have bids for him. What the going rate is for a championship standard striker is i have no idea.

There's the home grown rule as well we need to consider

We seem to be spoilt going forward all a sudden, so I would like to think we would hold onto some youngsters in the midfield and defensive positions

Another DM type midfielder? I was hoping we'd get a Pablo type midfielder.

I agree. Aaronson isn't a Pablo and neither is McKennie.

Hopefully one or more from Gnonto, Summerville, Sinisterra, Georgie can be the creative force we need. I've only seen McKennie at the World Cup but from what I've heard he makes intelligent runs which open up spaces for others to attack. Klich did the same at his best in the Championship. Fingers crossed.
