It’s difficult to see where our creativity comes from to provide options for Wells with AS going, and AW and TC injured.
Listened to a sobering interview with NP. What a straightjacket he has to wear. Glad we have a manager of his experience to get us through this inherited financial quagmire.
Like most, if not all Championship managers not in receipt of PL parachute payments, the post COVID fallout has hit clubs hard. However, given that experience you mention RP, we have fared a lot worse than others with less experienced managers and less money to spend. I think NP is a lucky man - or not as the case may be, to still be our manager, many other chairman would have shown him in the door by now, as evidenced by the amount of Championship managers who have been sacked this season. I think he should have gone during the WC break, but he didn’t, so we may as well stick with him now to the end of the season.
I don’t remember the same outpouring of sympathy when Webster, Kelly, Pack and Brownhill were sold. Maybe I missed it…..
Bristol City predicted team vs West Brom: Pearson has a Semenyo-sized hole to fill in the side Bristol City welcome West Brom to Ashton Gate in the FA Cup fourth round, just over a month after they were soundly beaten in BS3 by Carlos Corberan's side Bristol City predicted team vs West Brom: Pearson has a Semenyo-sized hole to fill in the side - Bristol Live (bristolpost.co.uk) Bristol City (4-3-3):Max O’Leary; George Tanner, Zak Vyner, Rob Atkinson, Jay Dasilva; Matty James, Kal Naismith, Alex Scott; Mark Sykes, Nahki Wells, Sam Bell
I wonder who is doing the most outpourings currently? I'm glad we have Nige and he is getting down to the nitty-gritty of the inherited financial quagmire as RP so well described it.
The bench will be interesting, we really are short of numbers, especially strikers. I also wonder whether Kalas will get a run out at some point. After listening to Nige, I’m unsure that Weiman is quite ready yet though.
The progress made has seen us AGAIN near the relegation zone....as usual we see ourselves not hitting the heights that would give us financial gain...i.e promotion or even playoffs..an expeierienced manager not being able to make this team gel we are then having to make ends meet by selling the family silver...yet again!! Forest did a great job with very little to get where they are....sacked a has been (Hougton) and brought in a manager that got the best out of their players.. to me, that's the definition of progress.....but hey, others see it differently!! Today's gonna be a tough one, we will do well to get a replay!!
I think his managing of the club within is very good......his on the field managing, selections, formations, tactics are no better than we've had in the past IMO.
1For - you need to remember that according to some peoples belief, LJ was all over the finances when he was manager - he probably even had his own Bristol City corporate chequebook and credit card too - AND he personally negotiated the players' wages, whereas NP simply does the coaching and management and is beyond criticism.
This has been posted on OTIB. I’ve not tried it but reading the comments you have to wade through quite a few pop ups but eventually you get the stream. https://www.vipleague.st/bristol-city-vs-west-bromwich-albion-2-live-streaming
