If we paid anything close to 25k a week for anyone with no senior experience behind them it's ****ing idiotic, and that's not hindsight. Anyway what's done is done.

Another winger potentially coming in, more relevant news.

As I said, financially it's been a big loss for us. But as you say, what's done is done.. and he's gone. Good luck to him. We move on with hopefully lessons learned and more successful players coming in for us

He's a huge talent and just because it hasn't worked here for him doesn't change that. It's up to him to make a career for himself, but saying he isn't a top prospect is just wrong

He did get a bit of a raw deal coming here though. He joined at the end of a huge overhaul, where we'd signed loads of midfielders and he was supposedly brought in as a winger. He's not a winger and looks more suited to playing central but there's no pathway there for him.

Hm not sure about that, we've been crying out for a creative mid and playing players like Slater in a more advanced role because there was no one else available so clearly Shota, Dawson and Rosenior didn't see enough from him in training.

The one position we cried out for from Shota being sacked to even now is a more advanced creative midfielder. He must have been an absolute stinker in training to not get a chance

I don't disagree. He's a raw young kid with potential and we were in a relegation battle until very recently. I don't think that's the right environment to gamble on him.

I'm not a fan of Slater/Doch in advanced roles moving forwards but there's no denying it helped us get up the table. It's helped us be more solid and we looked a better side than we did 3/4 months ago
