Well that was very much a formality....Ten Hag got his hands on that trophy already.

Made it look easy, thought Forrest keeper was poor and could end up a cricket score at Old Trafford next week unless he decides to play a load of kids in which case another 3-0 easy win

You haven't got a point. Other than you think a scheme that has been in place for decades should be removed simply because it suits your agenda and your want for getting tickets easier.

You then hide behind some fictional bollox that thousands abandoned their season tickets, which is garbage. As pointed out it was the week by week tickets that were effected and the reason the season tickets got given away for free was to fill the ground to impress potential purchasers.....nothing else. For your information 10k half season tickets would have cost about £3m. A drop in the ocean when he was trying to shift interested sales offers from £150m to £300m. Furthermore to get a free half season ticket you had to be nominated by a current season ticket holder.

So I'll repeat. Some people left yes. A lot left for other reasons - moving away, getting married, buying a house, having kids, loss of job, umpteen other reasons, not to mention the football was in the main crap.
I am not having this. The only reason I took a job overseas and moved abroad was as a protest against Mike Ashley. I have written to the club and asked whether I can get my season ticket back now that PIF have taken over and I am thinking of retiring.

I have also mentioned that I converted to Islam in preparation for the takeover by our Arab paymasters, and reckon that should swing it for me.

Ten Hiag done well to bag a trophy in his first season
I dont know, Newcastle look pretty decent this season.
Manyoo will be favourites but I dont think its a foregone conclusion like it would have been a couple seasons ago.

So 2-1 to Man U in final instead of 2-0

Fair shout Bod
We know it will take a few years before we develop that winning mentality, when it comes to finals etc.

Hopefully it won't take us so long that they start naming a losing mentality after us. After all Spursy rolls off the tongue a lot easier than Newcastley.

Tooney sounds good.
But Spursy is a time honoured classic, you'd have to lose a lot of finals before you usurp their tag.

Maybe people did back in the 60’s

reckon people used to going around saying ‘don’t go all Toony’ to other teams

@duggie2000 to confirm

then fast forward 50 plus years and I guess people just got bored of saying it somewhere along the line

Nah - our perpetual runners-up period was 1995-1999. Short and sweet but unfortunately followed by a period of perpetual losing.

Until now (maybe).

Call me crazy but I'm not writing us off yet.

From their celebrations the other night I'm hoping they think it's job done and are a tad complacent. If we can get the first goal then it's game on but hopefully it's not too early. They score first and it's done though.

Plus they'll be missing a few players presumably as at least four of them died in the first half the other night.

I remember you lost back to back FA Cup finals in 98 (to Arsenal's double winners) and 99 (To United's treble winners).
I watched the 99 cup final at Stamford Bridge. on a big screen in the stadium, they were airing the final from Wembley.
I saw Franck Leboeuf getting in to his car :)
