We're going to have to be a lot smarter on transfers, it would seem. After losing out to Chelsea for Andrey Santos, Arsenal are now finalising a deal for Fresneda. Some bloke on Talksport saying about Anthony Gordon again. Isn't our problem we can't make the right decisions on the final ball/shot? He's got 7 goals, 2 assists since the beginning of last season.
Bit of a weird one, genuinely thought we'd have a couple in by now, even if they're younger, lesser known. I mean, the squad depth is poor. We can't just rely on 14 players.
I don't know where I stand on Gordon. He's a good player in a bad team. I look at the impact ASM had on us when we were crap and he was/is streets ahead of Gordon. If we bid 15M and get him its a snip. He'd be competition for Miggy who seems to have dropped off a bit. Time will tell and I have no reason to not trust the board/Eddie
Yeah they are offering silly money that we can't compete with - and won't be able to for a few years yet.
Agree, but the newspaper talk (yeah, yeah, I know!) is of £30+m. In which case I think there is better out there for that kind of price.
Chelsea are basically ****ing themselves up to be honest. They are spending future transfer windows money to get short term success. Extremely dangerous.
Not sure they could. You can only loan two players from one club I think? It’s bizarre that they can have so many players.
Money's no issue, they'll just ship out whoever they can then deal with a few unhappy folks in the background. Thing is they pay so well, players aren't really going to moan too much about being on £200k a week to sit in the reserves. They're a really ****ty club.
I agree. I have seen the 30M quoted and it is far too high. He could well become our next Bellamy, then it'd be a bargain, but I do not think he fits the mould for what we are looking for. I reckon Howe could get a tune out of him though
