Both burn at dangerously high temperatures, can cause people breathing difficulties and are designed for use in open spaces. Anyone claiming smoke bombs are 'safer' than flares in the context of a football match is being disingenous.

No they don’t both burn at dangerously high temperatures.

where in that post does it mention smoke canisters

The ones in the video that caused the hysterics on here were smoke canisters not flares. So mention what the tips of flares are is totally irrelevant.

I don't quite get the idea of acknowledging people are acting like ****ers but in the same breath defending their right to do so because 'we were all ****ers once' or whatever. If it's ****erish behaviour and we all agree it is why not stamp it out?

What's the difference? I always thought they were just different names. Can they not burn people? Is the smoke less thick?
Flares are far more risky as they burn at extremely high temperatures

Smoke canisters are much less risky. They sell them to people to use them paint balling, at weddings and even when announcing the sex of a baby. Lower burn temperatures and non toxic smoke (even though it might be irritating)

Don't get me wrong I don't use either and can't see the point of either, and throwing either is bloody stupid and dangerous (as is throwing anything at someone in a crowd) but they're definitely not the same things

problem is
using them in a very crowded unopen space is kinda ****ty

using it in an open air field like paintballing, yea fine

Sydney asked "What's the difference? I always thought they were just different names. Can they not burn people? Is the smoke less thick?"
So I answered, I used to work for a firm that made both as a research chemist. Whether the smoke is toxic or not will depend upon the amount inhaled. I wouldn't recommend long exposure in a confined space, especially if you have breathing problems but I'm retired now so not really bothered.

They must be dropping like flies in Greece then. (Notice the bloke on the pitch orchestrating it.<laugh>)

For all the moaning on here about how many awful players we apparently have, Sheff U fans seemed to think we played ok.

A lot of good comments on Twitter from Blunts fans saying we played good football and one of the best teams they played at Bramall Lane.

thats just stupid as ****

No one died, no one injured. Same size stadium as MKM but better atmosphere despite no roof. They set off smoke bombs and flares inside at their club’s basketball team’s matches as well with no problems.
