I've seen nothing to suggest he'll do that. The Labour heartlands voted to leave. If he tries that once elected he'll finish the Labour party there and then.
His speech was the same as usual... No detailed ideas, no spending amounts... Just the Tories have been ****, blah blah blah.
I'll be happy if he sticks with the line of not returning to the EU, especially as my stance hasn't changed on it.
My first thought is when Labour get in power, they will spend their time blaming the Tories rather than actually spending any money, so will not be able to live up to any promises - that seems to be shouting out to me loud and clear at the moment.
I like the Labour idea of our own energy, but from what I gather it's all costed wrong, but even so, I still think to be self sufficient on our own energy has to be the way forward for the future.
We need to become more self sufficient on so many things, importing stuff from the EU, China, America, Australia, wherever, has never struck me as a very green thing to do.
I also think we should be investing in our Town Centres, what's left of them, get the cars off the road, rebuild local communities, public transport, another Green effort, and I wonder if Labour's plans of transferring power from Westminster, would be good at helping achieve that goal, if local communities could be encouraged to invest in the idea.
