Says the Championship is where it is at these days. https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/man-utd-qatar-cantona-championship-28951089.amp
He's not wrong. The Premier League leaves me cold these days. I'll watch a game that's live on a weekend to kill the time, but I don't even bother with Match of the day anymore. It's all bought and paid for by the big clubs and nation states. I'm not even sure why they pretend it's sporting competition, just pay off the refs already and buy the points that win the trophies. Brentford and Brighton are brilliant examples that if you can run a club excellently, you can hit that ceiling of 7th (probably 8th now that the Saudi's are settled in). It doesn't matter how well you do, Spurs will underperform, but steal your best player and finish just ahead of you. The planets aligned for Leicester and people used that to pretend the Premier League is competitive.
Heard the interview and I agree with him the Premiership has sold its soul and our heritage to the worldwide web of lies and corruption, he didnrt watch the World Cup either top bloke.
I like him. He was ****ing superb player and speaks a lot if sense imo. Very happy I got to see him play live in the flesh.
I remember the "when the seagulls follow the trawler". They said he had lost the plot, when in reality that was Philosophy. A word that has now replaced "Tacits".
Never understood the carry on when he said that. It was a simple analogy, referring to reporters looking for scraps in the way that seagulls do.
I concur. It would be great if the big 6 could join a Euro league and sky/bt threw all their money at that. Then we could get back to divisions 1,2,3&4. Local teams for local people. Is it 7 teams have won the premier league? Including Liverpool, Leicester and Blackburn once each. That leaves City, United, Chelsea and Arsenal winning the other 27 seasons. Boring. Boring. Boring.
i laughed when Man u scored and their supporters suddenly made a noise, christ there is only 2 derbies in England as far as i am concerned and we have not won out for years.
