As my original post said, "reaching the premier League is Pie in the sky". Nice to dream though
I like to try and be realistic, great to have pipe dreams and fair expectations, but without being able to spend fair money on reasonable quality players is beyond our reach(FFP) ,and God knows we need investing in some quality..
As Jules Winfield said"
Look, you wanna play blind man, go walk with the shepherd but me, my eyes are wide xxxxxx open.

We're QPR, no expectations. We're not going up nor going down. For the size of our stadium and fanbase we're about where we should be on balance of everything being equal. Win one, draw one, and lose one. Finish sixteenth. Hopefully he'll score one in three. I'm always in hope of punching above our weight, but not this season with so many senior pros going absent.

Still not convinced about not going down. We are in free-fall.

Does this mean that the board have finally realised that he aint gonna cut the mustard and are looking to get rid?

Hammalamadingdong next please!
To be fair there’s a few here that won’t cut the mustard in this league or higher (which surely has to be criteria to measure). I can’t recall anyone ever saying Hammalamadingdong has had a great game why isn’t he playing every week!
No point creating players only good enough for League one - there’s no money there!

To be fair we are not going to get decent players prepared to sit on the bench or not even make the bench on a regular basis in this league on our wages. If we had strength in depth we’d be up the top of the league. It’s the massive advantage the relegated clubs have, plus the paid to fail cash. Our squad will always have a fair proportion of dross, until we fluke promotion.

We'll see relegation before another promotion...

So are we wasting money on players like Hammaleinen? Because he’s been here donkeys years and done nothing, as have a few others.
Decent players won’t be sitting on the bench they will be fighting for a first team start surely and pushing others to improve. Bit like Willock did with Ilias.

We need players who are prepared not to play very much on a (relatively) low wage as squad back up. You might see it as a waste of money or say we should just play kids when our first picks are injured to ‘develop’ them. I just think it’s inevitable that we’ll have a couple of serial underachievers in the squad in our situation.

.

I agree with Stan here.

I thought Shodipo and Kakay were both what we needed as backups.
Both seemed to give their all, I am sure we were not paying them relatively very much.

With Lowe arriving I can see the sense of letting Shodipo out.

Nico Hamalainen however has always seemed a class below Kakay and Shodipo.
Thomas who was not as good as Shodipo to me, should also go

but these back up players are a vital necessity at the moment.

Interesting reading on the Sky website where they have a feature on which Championship players are out of contract this summer. If it’s accurate then in particular Norwich and Sheffield United stand to lose a fair amount of talent.
We on the other hand will be shedding most of the sick bay and a lot of dross.

Kakay in particular is much improved and comes across as a decent pro. He's never going to be your starting full back but he puts a shift in whenever called upon and he's arguably better than most give him credit for.
