I thought the stop motion animation was terrific. So much so I didn't realise it was stop motion until after I'd watched it. Amazing skill involved in that.
Did a late one of Silence of the Lambs on telly last night. Another 10/10 offffftttttt. Best serial killer films? SotL obviously, Seven, Manhunter, Memories of Murder.
It's all about opinions mate. Like I prefer Brian Cox's Lector in Manhunter to Hopkins in sotl although I think sotl is the better film but that's mainly due to Jody Foster's performance.
My favourite serial killer movies... Psycho Memories of Murder Arsenic and old lace Night of the hunter Se7en Zodiac I saw the devil American Psycho Monster
Jodie Foster is underrated in that film. I was thinking this last night, Hopkins should've refused to do the sequel unless she agreed to do it. The difference was telling.
Btw on Frenzy, two scenes - the one where he's strangling the woman in the upstairs flat and the camera pans out of the flat, down the stairs and into the market outside where everyone's milling around. and the one where he realises he's left his pin in her hand, but he's dumped her in a sack of spuds on the back of a truck so he ends up in there as it's travelling up the A road trying to find the right sack. As it goes on, it's tense as fck.
Foster, imho stole the show in SOTL. Hopkins was good but a bit too flowery for Lecter, if you know what I mean. Hammed it up a bit too much. Mads Mickelson in the TV series Hannibal Is fantastic as Lecter. Very close to how Harris perceived him in the books.
