The more I think about having a “one off” payment to resolve the current industrial dispute….the more palatable it becomes. Depends what the figure comes out as but might just be a solution
It's all about the figure. Scottish government offered a one-off payment to nurses at end of last year of between £2k and £2.5k dependant on your band, which was rejected
Did the unions say that wasn’t enough ? To be honest, I was thinking more of a percentage of your band level……say 10% up to band 7 (just a figure off the top of my head)
No idea, just know it was rejected, they want a deal in place for wage increase. I'm away up north at the moment so can't even ask the missus. As I told you before, she switched unions because she's raging that Unison accepted the offer given to them by SG which was paltry, and now she's with RCN who are about to walk out.
I used to quite like Alison Pearson when she did the Late Review on BBC2 with Tony Parsons. How did she turn into this ludicrous right wing caricature?
Old right-wing men are an endangered species but also a silent majority who never shut up. It’s basically the entire remit of The Express/Mail now apart from the blessed relief of a week of headlines about Harry.
****in wish I could afford to retire in my 50s....I'll be dragging my bones out well into my late 60s I reckon - unless I get a lottery win!
If pensions are still a thing by then it’ll be 75 by the time I qualify I reckon. This assumes I live that long.
