Lots of very big clubs after Fresneda. We have been pipped recently to young talent so hopefully history won't repeat itself. Learning under the tutelage of Trippier would be an incredible bit of experience and might be something to lure him....
Trippier is a perfect player to learn from though. I posted this one 2 weeks ago and it looks good, he’s very highly rated.
He’s decent but at 27 with no PL experience just seems like yet another name touted by an agent. I can see us going for either a decent out of contract player - Tielemans, Soyuncu, Skriniar, Thuram - or just some low cost youngsters. Still have hopes we get three in - Fresneda, Thuram and Tielemans would be insane.
It's sounding like Thuram is a non starter, for us at least. Agree re the youngsters though. I can see us targeting 2 or 3 younger prospects, probably ones I've not heard of. Can't see us spending crazy money on the big established names the likes of Chelsea will be chasing.
The window always starts with newcastle losing out on the more fancy names. Once the more attractive clubs in the eyes of players have picked their players newcastle can beat the rest to whatever is left on offer.
Tielemans has played ****e since the fa Cup final years ago, so the likes of Arsenal and Barcelona won't be that interested anymore and newcastle might get him tbh ...
Arsenal mate of mine reckons they’re not remotely interested as they have Viera behind Partey and Xhaka. Is he the DM we really need? Not sure. He’s an upgrade on Longstaff of course. But might be pricey (wages). I think we’ll get a CM and it’ll be the only notable purchase. Realised we’ve been playing well and getting results with Joe and Joe rotating on the left. With Max as cover, do we desperately need a winger? Not sure. You can see why Maddison is coveted. RCM or RW so could do a similar job with Almiron. Or they could go with a DM to allow Bruno more freedom. We’ll get one I feel. Longstaff has been dropping again.
