You were rather hostile a year back and I'm that guy that comes back when the time is right .

In all seriousness... I wasn't expecting to be back so soon .

    Happy new year

Still haven't explained why I should remember you

Based on the bloke in your gif, I'll assume you're a Man Utd fan who spends all day tweeting how both Mason Greenwood and Andrew Tate are innocent...

Not sure about the intricacies of kulusevski’s loan deal but surely the biggest worry is we lose him.

Something's obviously very wrong at the club.

No doubt, Conte's stuck in a loop of his own making...but if we replace him with Poch...or Tuchel...or anyone...will it result in us being seriously competitive under our current owners?...or are we just kicking the can down the road for another season?

    I've heard this before

Jose got the same question...so did Poch near the end of his tenure

are some of the players just ****?

I can't wait for the Kane/Son chapter to come to an end at Spurs

I feel as though we think we are on the cusp of some greatness because we always have these 2. It's like the club sits on its laurels and so do many fans because we have these two 'elite' players

Them 2 for our best players don't have the best mentality imo so by default that lowers our ceiling of capability

    Club needs a mentality reset

    Starting with ENIC

    get out

No chance am I accepting that top class managers turn to **** when they join us. Don't get me wrong, Conte is at fault but I guess what I'm saying is I'm sick of the easiest option always being the obvious one.

I hope the stadium turn on Levy hard...I actually hope he let's Conte down this transfer window and it all blows up.

Conte being pretty public in having one foot in the boat and one foot out isn't exactly going to inspire players longterm, and it wouldn't surprise me if some already had the expectation of another managerial change at the back of their minds

Not suggesting we should lock Conte in a room and say he can't leave until he signs an extension, but any sign that club and manager are on the same page would go a long way

Kind of agreed but what can we really do about the ownership? As a member, when trying to get tickets I see we’re pretty much selling out league games in about 30 minutes. Unless attendances drop then nothing going to change.

Honestly don’t know where we go from here.

conte looks like he’s thrown the towel in. Perhaps the reality of our approach of not buying ready made players has taken its toll, and it’s very different to what he’s used to. He now looks like he’s trying to get sacked And has come to the realization that this isn’t for him.

And as usual, the team needs serious investment (feels like it always does), which says a lot about our recruitment and decisions at the top.

so we’re now potentially in a situation where we’ve got a manager who isn’t right for us, who (perhaps) would rather be sacked, but a chairman won’t want to sack him because of the cost. <laugh>

Which then brings us to the question of “who next?”, because we know there won’t be serious investment that aligns with what conte needs.

    Pochettino to return? …
…Only to not get the investment required.

    so unbelievably bored of it.

I think it’s just a case of being able to attend/ watch a football match and enjoy it. Even in our wins this season it’s barely been enjoyable and that’s on Conte, there’s enough decent players to play a good brand of football, a large number of our squad was at the World Cup and a fair number went quite far so it’s not like we’ve got a poor group of players on the whole.

I’ve given up wanting trophies now, it ain’t happening. So at the least just let me enjoy watching Spurs, win or lose, I just want to watch a proper game of football, not this turgid nonsense Conte keeps churning out.

So we will go full circle and appoint everyone's hero and once again Levy has the fans over a barrel with a bit of token romanticism..he's a businessman and he knows his clientele on the whole are fickle as ****

    Why?

You sound like a dream for ENIC

broken you into his own line of thinking

I would really like to see what a different owner would do with us. As for those who will remind me 'careful what you wish for' blah blah from the fan base can quite frankly **** off along with ENIC too

I want to see what new owners can do...if they do worse then oh ****ing well...I don't care...I want someone else's vision...these ****s have had half my lifetime but they haven't beaten me yet...I'm still a fan who wants silverware

I don’t think he does, the fans today showed that, I’d probably even say the majority of Spurs fans are now likely anti-ENIC. But realistically what can fans do? You can’t force a chairman/ owner out, they’ll sell when they want/ get an acceptable offer. Toon fans tried for years with Ashley and it never worked and the Goons have been trying it with the Kroenke’s to no avail, it’s only when the Saudi’s decided they wanted to buy something that Toon then got sold.

In terms of managerial appointment though, whether it be Poch or any attack minded manager, it’ll at least spare us of having to watch this nonsense, because this ain’t football what he’s carving up.

The thing with needing a mentality is that it goes both ways, as we've had our share of managers whose mentality was horribly mismatched for what we needed, which leads to regressive patterns

Take the ubermensch for the perfect example. Anyone who saw 3-4 of our passmaps knew how to set up against us as our patterns were very predictable so all opponents needed to do was push Aurier out wide and wait for somebody to drift out of position to create an easily exploited gap, and yet he refused to tweak his system even though results were getting worse and worse

In the case of Conte it's not a systemic issue but the problems are easily worked out, because if you press our midfield the ball stops getting forward - and it's exacerbated by casting H as an out-and-out striker instead of letting him drop deep to release Son and/or Deki as he was doing so to devastating effect in the run-in, so at that point doubling up on the left flank is enough to keep us quiet for games where Deki isn't in the team

Same with Villas-Boas, Ramos and Graham, and for similar reasons - they rigidly stick to their systems which is fine when things work...but when they don't things spiral into a cycle of bad performances, bad results, worse performances, worse results, abysmal performances, abysmal results

...only for Levy to sack them when they don't fulfil his unrealistic (on the biudget) CL qualifying criteria?

I'm not against such a plan (I was all for appointing Potter to replace Mourinho) but let's drop the nonsense about being a big club and competing with those above us, saying one thing and having zero realistic ambition to do enough to achieve it, is something that I've had enough of.

If we're a project club, let's acknowledge it and try to be a bloody good one.

Because realistically it’s not happening. Why bother about winning trophies when we’ve got a manager making us play like a side that’s just been promoted and too cautious to attack?

We’ll likely lose our best player in the summer, our second best looks like he’s on the downturn and beyond that all we’ll have is Kulusevski as a potential game changer. We need to walk before we can run, so trophies aren’t realistically on the agenda right now.

Apologies if this has been said before on here this afternoon., I've just got in but.,

It doesn't seem to matter how leisurely they pass the ball sideways and backwards...
or how pitifully you turn and look at the referee... 'you can't turn senior serial losers into winners'.

No disrepect indended to the newer members of the squad and I don't think it's Conte's fault at all.
