I was on about Salah TBF ST. Really looking forward to seeing him and Traoré in action think a midfielder like that on paper is exactly what we are missing at the minutr
We were losing players to long term injuries at a rate of 1 per game, some even in training. - also Tufan was way off fitness wise as a starter/90 minute player and they simply reacted after other deals fell through. At least the Chelsea lads seem to be returnable so that should free up some budget now we have some walking wounded coming back. Everything is easy in hindsight. They felt they needed bodies in fast for a couple of positions and they went out and got them within the window constraints they were working to, probably feeling that there was some security in the fact they were loans and could go back if deemed to be surplus in Jan.
He is some player an all. What I cannot understand is why no top side from the Prem didn’t buy him from River Plate, the going price was 15 million.
Probably need to delve into the murky world of agents / joint ownership and bureaucracy to find the answer to that one. - but tevez/marscherano might be a good starting point.
Is there plenty? Care to share the maths? And whilst to you and I it's insane money, but at the sharp end mixing it with parachute clubs where we aspire to be then it really isn't. Oh, and Pelkas has 2 goals 1 assist in 859 minutes for us so far. That's basically a direct goal contribution in every 3 games from a midfielder. What do you think your average championship side pays for that? And have any other of our current larkers done that for us? If so, who and when and I'm not talking about L1.
Enough of this. You're a raving moron. Everything is easy in hindsight you say, despite the fact I said all of this at the time and you rubbished and undermined everything I said. Now you go on about Tufan not being fit when we signed him. Now you go on about the Chelsea lads being suprlus to requirements. Now you go on about how haphazard our summer window was. When some of us were saying that AT THE TIME. It was not said with hindsight, it was said while it was happening. It was said while we were signing these players. But you gushed over the owner's funds. You gushed over the quality of the players we brought in. You gushed over the early season performances. While others pointed at the concerning stats, the concerning underlying numbers, and the concerning trajectory we were on. Now we're near the relegation zone and it's all, "Oh well it's easy to say we stuffed up with the benefit of hindsight" yeah ok jog on.
The maths is that Vale has been at the club 4 months and won't be here much longer, if we're paying him 26k a week it's moronic and Acun needs to be sacking whoever signed off on that deal, but it won't put a dent in our FFP despite your gleeful commentary to the contrary.
It's not gleeful its realistic. If you want to grub around at the bottom of the champ and rely on anomaly to get you to the top end then fine, don't hand out 20k contracts. If you have the money to finance the then frankly you have to. Even if only to advertise the fact that you're in the game with reward to be had then trade from there. I'd like to think we're more than a flash in the pan. Acun has the cash but we can agree that he needs to get value to achieve success. . Vale at 25k was nowhere near value. But if there's a send back clause after 4 months then it shouldn't be a big deal. It's 'just' (sic) a 400k dent in the seasons finances.
Actually you arrogant sanctimonious self serving prick we both agreed that Vale and Simons looked like panic signings and could only be realistically envisaged as cover. Sounds like you're a little sore about your pronouncements about being nowhere near FFP and Acun being skint and not investing have come home to roost. Bit sore are we?
The fact you're still trying to gleefully cling to those pronouncements and can't comprehend that you are actually completely in the wrong are embarrassing. Acun himself has said we have no issues with FFP due to our boosted income, he said as much in a very recent interview. Have a read. I never said Acun was skint either, but please do dig up where I said he was. I said that his net wealth couldn't be accurate or the ownership of the club couldn't be accurate if his net wealth was correct. Don't bother replying, as I expect it'll involve something about my dog, or Honeyman or both, you creepy psycho.
I'll stick to the football, thanks If I am wrong when the cows eventually come home ill admit it. Unlike you. You definitely said he's only reinvested the KLP cash and nothing more and we're nowhere near ffp for this season I guess the finances will tell us eventually but you've definitely called him naive and alluded to him being basically a charlatan. Oh, and this increased revenue was still in the pileline at the last window. It still is as of now according to ST and HT but you've conveniently ignored that reply. Though it is at least a shift from your prior view asking how other clubs do it to accepting that commercial revenue is the difference. Maybe you're slowly learning? Finances at last window I assume is what we're discussing because the new window hasn't opened yet. They made decisions based on the finances at the time but if you think we'll be spending millions this window cos ffp headroom you're having a ****ing laugh. We've gone to a 20m+ wage bill from a >10m one in the summer window, irrespective of fees. And the trajectory has shifted from deservedly losing to unfortunately drawing since the change of gaffer. So yeah, let's see. Its too early to judge just yet. Maybe you should give Jackson another call see lf he'll let you interview him again? Might sooth your ego? Or has he changed his number in the meantime? I'll stand by the premise that the owner has invested what he's able to. I'll also stand by that by the end of this 3 year rolling ffp cycle and the next one cos we're bang in the middle of the two right now by ffp's very nature the owner will have put his money where his mouth is. Contracts signed last summer or indeed now affect the previous period and the next. So to be FFP secure in 2025 we need to be mindful of binding ourselves., and we are also bound by ehabs prior L1 covid losses and crowd/commercial exodus. I'll also stand by Pelkas, Traore and Tufan being better options in the 10 collectively than Honeyman and Moncur who will never play in ligue 1, internationally or in any serious top flight, or indeed move to AS Monaco for 14m when you personally were deriding Traore as being a nobody as recently as yesterday. And as you're asking me never to reply to you again frankly you're coming across as quite desparate, whereas I don't really care. Whatever will be will be. I'll still do my 20 games a year home and away in league 1, 2 or even non league if it came to that, traveling from northumberland to be alongside a couple thou others when everyone else ****s off. So don't try the big 'I am' on me little boy. There was an old joke about the difference between a pot of yoghurt left on Withernsea beach and that it developed a complex culture after a couple of months not decades or centuries. Frankly, I'd suggest you spent some time on Withernsea beach.
Thus proving the longer the post the more the ****ing bullshit the biggest ****ing prick we have ever had on here. the **** has no idea what he’s on about well done Syd for calling him out, some of us recall well what the bullshit man was saying in the summer.
I always worry about the motivation for young players on loan from big clubs when they are already on ridiculous money. 26k a week for Vale. He won’t see his future here and will of been told by his agent( kerching) how amazing he is and his future is of course much higher up. The fact that Vale has not even looked like making the bench in a struggling team is a worry for apparently the best young talent at Chelsea. If he is pulling up trees in training and still not been considered tells me even more about the culture of wages young footballers are on. Over a million a year and not even considered yet.
It's nothing new. Some kids get the money can't deal with it or the expectation and fall off a cliff. James Scott anyone (in microcosm obviously)? How many international 21s actually make the elite level in the men's game, 30% at best? They've made a decent man's wage before they've even done a day's proper work. Their parents drive them to training and get them up in the morning and life is handed on a plate. What's the incentive?
Best not get me going on that. Stewart cost us 45k a game. Irvine couldn't get a contract for 6 months and ended up in Scotland. I can only say that Darno has been lucky. And I'd expect as soon as the new regime gets its own domestic feelers out he'll either be scouting u18s or completely ****ed off entirely. I'd prefer the latter.
I'm no better fan than anybody, but Im not taking his sanctimonious patronising bullshit especially when it's all about ego and can't be wrong about the **** he was spouting 5 months ago that he's now manoeuvring to accept was incorrect. t If I'm proved wrong about Acun's intentions, FFP and the money he's put in I'll accept it. But for the time being in his words I think he should reflect and be a better person for it.... ..and they call me ****ing arrogant.
