This is a forum where adults post opinions on a shared interest. We as football fans tend to be passionate about our club and as such we all have opinions that we like to share, but in the words of Brian (not that one!) we are all individuals and we will not always agree. I try not to argue with people on here, and I certainly don't agree with every post, but occasionally we can all rise to the bait and respond to another posters comment with a contrary opinion put across in a forceful manner and I find the level of debate here to be consistently good and its a healthy forum as a result. I certainly hope that King continues to be a regular contributor because he has strong opinions that create debate. We don't always agree but I hope we have never fallen out. We are lucky that we have a broad spectrum of posters here and I am sure we all have people we are more in tune with than others but we are all Spurs fans we all love the club and that is our common ground that we all come from.
This was a mistake on my part and I apologise. I thought you wanted a reply from the mod that deleted the comment, so I didn't say anything. I should have at least responded in some fashion to let you know you weren't being ignored. I disagree with a couple of things that you've said, though. We're not in charge. We're the board's janitors, at best. We're also utterly replaceable. The forum members can challenge the way that we do things, too. If they'd like to see it done differently, then all they have to do is say so. You're nowhere near a ban, either. I think there's been one Spurs-on-Spurs ban ever. As long as you don't post any pictures of your testicles, you should be ok! I can't remember the last ban anyone got on here, either. Sucky and Diego post here...
Yeah, but if you ban them the govt research funding paid to us to study them, would be immediately cut.
Surely two, as DGC got shot out of a cannon into the sun approximately three minutes after the 2019 CL final
They left of their own accord, IIRC. Could be wrong, though... I watched that match in the pub and didn't log in afterwards. Some alcohol may have been consumed that day.
Could've sworn somebody says they were banned for posting their usual ****e within minutes of the final whistle
I'd say I was in another category ....respect you because you make reasoned points even if you have a few blind spots. Think most of the others would feel the same.....
I like this board not only because of the shared love we have for the club but because the level of abuse you see in some forums is not prevalent here. If that is partially because the mods delete what they see as an attack on another poster I can go along with the occasional deletion right or wrong. I was absent from the board for a long time due to my wife's health but now manage to get a little time to post. I generally like political threads on these forums but am disappointed by ours as it seems to reflect only one stream of opinion and consists mostly of posting items that are on twitter which if we were interested we could view on there. For me political threads are most interesting when people debate issues rather than copy and paste from elsewhere. Each to their own though and so I now ignore that thread, occasionally post here but read with interest the threads on football matters on which almost everybody knows more than me.
IMHO that is partly on you. If you want to discuss a political topic X, post. The dopamine-addicted that the "social media" sites have utterly subjugated, will stay clear precisely because there is nothing of relevance for them to cut/paste to get their "fix" .
Apologies, have family over and wasn't on the site much yesterday. I can only echo what PNP said. I'll be honest I have sympathy with your post but we have one main rule here, the ball not the player. You are a bright man, you could have made the same point in a different way. If you are after a response in future please send me a private message and I will get you the answers you need.
I agree - it is TOTALLY on me. I like political debate not reading a cut and paste twitter blog. So having reviewed the political thread I made the choice not to use it. My choice, on me, not complaining just observing.
Solely as a PRODUCER, if your postings induce discourse then good on you. If none comes, then no harm done by you. Solely as a CONSUMER, you can only respond to whatever is produced. Which currently is not to your liking. That would suggest trying to be a producer rather than only being a consumer ...
I am not as clever as that. I am not trying to be a producer or consumer - only to enjoy a bit of posting on sites I like. I have no desire to be a producer or influencer or whatever label can be given to me. The political thread is what it is made by everyone who posts there and I have simply observed what I have stated. I do not want to be at the centre of "discourse". If others do not have the appetite for the type of debate I enjoy then I am happy to do as I have chosen and not use that thread. I have no wish to alter how others enjoy their thread. If they did not like posting material from twitter etc then they wouldn't. But it seems they do which is great. As I observed when I managed to get back to this board there is almost no difference of opinion - most posters are left leaning so post things they enjoy. I am not about to try to post right wing content just for the sake of discourse especially as I too am not a supporter of the Tories. Let me be happy to leave that thread as one I do not wish to read but to post on this thread where the likes of you and I can exchange opinions as we are here. Mine was a fairly throw away comment on the political thread and not intended to be any sort of criticism of it - as I said - it is totally down to me - and my likes/dislikes.
