Said it many many times we now have a Management structure that have been so much better than anything we have experienced for many many years , we have to trust KLD and the management team he has carefully assembled to make the club successful , leave the decisions to them . I have a lot of faith that they will get the decisions that are right for the club correct and let’s be honest they are light years ahead of the scattergun approach we had in the recruitment policy in the last few years . My feeing is that Ross Stewart who is loved and revered on Wearside will find it difficult to find a better club than ours - money isn’t everything - happiness is more important !!!
Probably worthless, and dont moan when it is nonsense. A lad who has chance of knowing says Alfie Devine from spurs is a possibility in Jan. Know nothing about him personally but the lad I have chatted to does. Says he is stepping up at Spurs and they want him getting some first team experience. No expectations on minutes but part of a squad who gets opportunities. Lots of mights and maybes in the discussion from him. Thought I would share for discussion only. Maybe someone to slot into Embo? No idea personally.
Whether it’s at Sunderland or elsewhere, one thing is clear - Stewart fully deserves a massive rise and a proper contract over a good number of years. He’s earned it without doubt. Class act who was a massive part of our promotion last season.
In the minutes quoted on here earlier, he says he'll only sell him if they have someone better lined up. That's quite a thing to say if it quickly turns out to be obviously not true. If not true, would have been better saying something like the usual, 'every player has his price and any funds raised will be reinvested'. Will be really interesting to see how this pans out.
Devine is class, great movement off the ball and makes great runs beyond the striker from a deep position. Just did a scouting report on him and he has huge potential and I reckon he would improve the team immediately
Lad I know says he is very good. Apparently spurs and Conte like him a lot and think he needs championsip experience not u23. Been in with spurs first team training during world cup period and shown up well he says.
He's a no10, could play deeper if needed but he isnt great defensively so thats why a no10 role suits him best. Has good pace about him as well, the game i watched he scored 2 goals and both were due to making great runs beyond the striker. Very highly rated at Spurs and the England set up - will be a good PL players in a few years IMO
Yeah possibly, Devine is class but always hard to tell how talented youngsters will adapt to senior football - he has all the talent tho. He is similar to Pritch in the way he receives the ball, always on the half turn and he always looks to make something happen I hope we keep Pritch, at least till the end of the season, think he sets such a high standard for the team
I'm sorry to say with this his big chance of big money he might find it hard to say no. Happiness is for the fans, realising what he can earn is so much more important to a player and his family
Also a big part of it. Hasn't earned a good amount so far and wages will be massive compared to what we can offer in our structure. What is he now 26? Needs this deal to be the one to set him.
