One thing´s for sure, if you give´em a goal They´re not going to turn it away, And yesterday we got ourselves in a hole With some of our hazardous play And although we scored two great goals which deserved To be part of a winning side, Some of our defending was at best, reserved Which ultimately caused us to slide Agbonlahor was a pain all day long As some of us feared he might be, But when we have a day when we´re not on song Then you do live life dangerously So we need to cut out any Christmas gift We´re nowhere near December yet, Donations like that yesterday give a lift To any side, let´s not forget But no-one can question the fight on the part Of our lads, which they always show, Even when two down they never lost heart And kept on having a good go And although it´s easy to point the finger At one Leon Barnett, I´d say, He knows, and the nasty feeling will linger With him, for many a day You can bet, they´ll learn, and pretty quick too That here you don´t give gifts away, Next time no-one will have a doubt what to do I´m sure, if Lambert has his say But despite our late rally Villa were worth The points, no-one here can deny, So Peter Grant could celebrate his new berth By clipping the wings of Canary But I´ve no doubt that we´ll be ready to fly In just under fourteen days time, When Gunners, with their guns out, come passing by Our own will be loaded and primed. OTBC Until we go again, Yours,
Fine words and so true, sir, I suppose we have to accept we are going to have a bad day at the office! Nice to know that we can score such high class goals at this level, and I dare say, on another day we will play just as poorly and win!
To be quite honest dave, if we hadn´t had the slices of luck ( albeit deserved ) against Liverpool and Blackburn, we´d probably have lost those too. Days like yesterday will come again, when we´re just beaten by a better side, and no amount of good fortune is going to help out, I´m afraid. But as long as the goals keep on going in, if we can just tighten up defensively at critical times, then we´ll still win our fair share.
