PSG only pay it to "names" and Bellingham isn't that
RM already have Tchoumeni who they pay £150kpw so why give Bellingham 3 times as much

ManU won't pay £500k again in near future as they are in danger of running into FFP probs with no covid get out
Barca are not paying De Jong that much as he agreed a salary reduction .
The last 2 are just laughable .

I'm not saying he will be coming here but i fail to believe he will command the figures you keep bandying about .

Your point on touchamni is fair but it is also kind of outside the point here.

Milk said 250k would get Bellingham and I made the point it would not especially as the top wages have inflated away above that these days.

As for laughing at reality, well fair enough, laugh at it. He's clearly not going to those last two club but you asked a question and didnt say bellingham would go there as a proviso, they are factual answers that are happening as we speak.

The reality here that I've even seen denied is that this player is just about the hottest property going. How that adds up to him taking a wage that was very good 5 years ago I don't quite know.

As I said many times (despite the fixation on 500k) he won't go for 250k a week wages. He can name his price.

If a separate (but decent comparison) player decided to take less to get to real Madrid then fair enough but its as illogical to expect him to do that as to expect him to demand haaland money either.

If Bellingham really wanted to join lfc he's had two chances rejected btw. One at 11 and one at 16 so now at 19 going on 20 it is illogical to beleive press hype that it's us or bust.

If we get him we will have paid through the nose.

And busquets and pique "retiring" takes nearly a mil a week off wages.

As for de jong there will be a court case as the wage reduction was covid initiated and he's owed a fortune

you're the one who said it would take 500kpw but when asked which club would either do that or afford that you cannot come with any .
This isn't about if he will come to us but your belief his wage demands will be above what we can afford / will pay .
 
I am not saying I Think we will get Bellingham because I don’t believe we will
But IF we get him
I really really really hope he is mega insured cause I am certain we will break him <laugh>

I get the feeling it won't matter where Bellingham goes just as long as he takes a **** wage to prove me wrong ;)

Given city (strongly linked) psg (directly quoted as interested) and utd (also linked) have all paid mega wages and were on said list I fail to see the issue, bar of course just as long as I'm wrong.

Fernandez, Gakpo, Amrabat... It's not like Bellingham is the only one being hotly linked and fought over
by five or six clubs. They all are (and amusingly, we're one of the clubs linked with all of them). That's four players getting equal sort of pressure and linked to, mostly, the same group of clubs.

There's four or more players and about five clubs linked with all of them. We will probably get one. City will probably get one, Madrid will probably get one and United will probably get one. It's not like there's only one hot prospect about to be on the market.

There's rumours from Argentina that we've already got Fernandez ready to sign... Which if true means it's very unlikely we'll get Bells.
