Damn damn damn we have been found out, take a look at the odds on us going down, think the bookies are a disgrace IMO , what do you think ? lol http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/relegation
Well the odds are drifting which means they are catching on slowly. The more we go under the radar the happier i will be!!!
I love how we are written off by the media, bookies and opposing teams/fans. Relieves all pressure and we can okay the little old Swansea routine and fly under the radar
I think you don't realise what bookies are there for - to make themselves lots of money. They don't make fools of themselves at all and always come out on top over the long-term. It's also great for business for them to be lose sometimes. Odds aren't predictions, as some of you seem to think. The odds are based on a number of things, including how people are betting. If many are betting for Swans to be relegated, then the odds will come down. This has nothing to do with whether any bookie thinks Swans will be relegated or not. If odds are so out of sync, as many of you are saying, then it's your chance to make some easy money. There was a poll on here at start of season and most Swans fans on here thought Swans would finish bottom 4. So if that's what most fans think, why should bookies offer long odds for relegation. The odds mostly reflect what fans thing.
Casual fan I know exactly what the bookies do and how they make money, as someone who spent 18 years in the gambling industry and knowing a lot of bookies, and actually running one for my company at one point, I am under no illusions ! Also as the odds are lengthening it means they realise the odds on us going down are less likely, if you look at that this site for any length of time you will see odds changing, it's a great site to get sport betting in, I put on a few quid on getting the correct scores there.
Also casual it has very little to do with what fans think, the odds lengthen or shorten on results and points gained, yes it also has to do with money bet , but the primary change is results first, then other factors like players injured etc, then who you got to play and then a generated risk using computers to get the odds, very little human interaction is actually used for odds. Swansea City are the premierships best kept secret and by the end of the season not only the bookies but the whole premiership will have found out that the Swans are not just there to make up the numbers, It would appear that Liverpool fc are waking up to that fact this morning.
Old Dalglsh was a miserable bastard in the post-match interview yesterday. We executed perfectly to absorb their offense and still had the calm and confidence to play out from the back and one-touch it around - sometimes a tad too calm and onfident for me .... But we so easily could have won yesterday. In fact when we were getting into the final third we were causing them all sorts of problems - their keeper saved them countless times.
