    This Brazil side that had been bigged up by the media was really a pale copy of former great Brazilian teams. Their failure to beat a Croatian side with a fair sprinkling of ageing stars has shown their true worth. Go back to the 70's and they would have at least 7 players of Neymar's standing so don't expect me to get excited by just one.

    Let's be honest, every Brazil side gets bigged up by the media, with plenty of lazy comparisons with the 1970 or 2002 teams because they just so happen to wear the same shirt

    If you want a bad Brazil side getting bigged up because their shirt happens to say "Brasil" on it, look no further than 1990 or 2006 for some vintage examples

    He wouldn’t have even gotten into the 2002 team, in fact barely any of this team make the 2002 one.

    Still a very good player though in my opinion but there’s been better.
