Don't see it myself, think he's more a attacking midfielder. Think we'll see a shift in style over the next few months anyway

I've tried to make the effort this tournament and get behind England, but they just bore me senseless.
I can understand why they play the football that they do, I understand that it needs to be functional rather than exciting, I understand it will get results.

I have to say, without Messi they look average. Then again they said that about Maradona.
It was different when Maradona did it, teams weren't as organised and there were a lot more **** sides too. Teams are much more equal nowadays so you need a bit more. I don't think Messi is enough.

Argentina look dangerous when Messi's on the ball. Otherwise I doubt they'd ever look like scoring. Alvarez looks good but won't do much without Messi either. That's your lot with the Argies imo.
Alvarez looks a quality player. Said as much when I've seen him playing for Man City. Would have loved him at Liverpool.

I'd also say both Argentina squads were better than this one, they weren't as old and had some genuine worldclass players to help out, like Caniggia, Ruggeri and Burruchaga.
