Competition - FIFA World Cup Finals

Date - Monday, 21 November 2022
Kick off - 19:00
Venue - Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, Al Rayyan, Qatar
On 19 June 1958 in Gothenburg - when yours truly was nearly 6 months old - Wales played its last FIFA World Cup Finals Stage match, a 0-1 defeat to Brazil in the Quarter Finals, when a certain young teenage player called Pele was the scorer.
So, after a wait of 64 years and 5 months, Wales will finally play its next Tournament Finals match, with the USA the opponents.
The last time the teams met was in November 2020 in a match played at an empty Liberty Stadium in Swansea – empty due to Covid restrictions - when the game ended 0-0.
It was also memorable because it marked the first time in the USA team’s 100+ year history that two players under the age of 18 started the same match for the USMNT - Gio Reyna and Yunus Musah were both aged 17.
Additionally, I believe it was the first match with Rob Page in charge of the Welsh team - albeit a ‘second-string’ selection ahead of two Nations League matches the following week.
Turning to Monday, neither side will want to lose the opening fixture and I’m going for a cagey 0-0 draw.
Hope I’m wrong and Wales win 2-0
