If you're talking black and white movies has to be Angels With Dirty Faces.

I was in my 20's when I first saw it and the end just fcked me off. I knew it was the right thing to do but was so wrong at the same time. Did my head in and that's why I loved it.

Two more great b&w films -
12 Angry Men
Maltese Falcon

Most of the old Hitchcock films.

Whatever Happened To Baby Jane, another one.

Love, Stand By Me, always thought it would have worked in B&W

Steve Martin, I remember the VHS cover. Never watched it though.

It looked like a spoof of private eye noir films.
It is, but it uses clips from lots of B &W movies from the 40's patched together to make a new film, Cagney, Cary Grant, Bogart, McCall etc are all in it

Amsterdam 7.4/10

Christian Bale, JD Washington, Margot Robbie, Rami Malek, Robert De Niro, Mike Myers, Michael Shannon.

Did just enough to keep me watching but not close to O'Russell's best work.

It's shot in a quirky bohemian style which I like.
