Sorry guys, I am crippled with Sciatica right now.
May not be able to post much for a few days <wah>

After a few days I'd rather not have all over again I'm beginning to recover I think.
Got a way to go, but I may be able to join in a bit more soon <ok>
I suffered lower back pain for many years, but 5 or 6 years ago Iwas given some exercises by the physio, after self-referring. I still do them about 5 times a week and don't have back pain any more (touch wood).

Good to hear you are on the road to recovery Lardi. Never had Sciatica (and I hope I never do) but it has a reputation as pure agony in it's most intense form.

I am on the mend, but it's a gradual process.
Walking or standing, it's not too bad - at least for a short while in the case of the latter. But sitting (as I normally would in front of my PC) is still out of the question. Something about the sitting posture seems to aggravate the pressure on the nerve I guess.

I've had to elevate my screen & keyboard at home so I can use them standing up.
In that manner I can type for a few minutes at a time.
So the time required to complete some of the stats tables I usually update regularly is still a bit beyond me. But I'll get there...

Hope you get back to full fitness soon.
I assume you are off sick from work.

Yes, for three days.
First time in years I've been off sick for that long.
Back in on Monday, but just for a few hours to sort out some urgent things. This weekend hasn't been too bad but I'm under doctor's orders to get some rest <ok>

Hopefully those days will have helped. I imagine it must have been very strange being off as not being used to going in.

Yes, a bit frustrating.
It's a small firm and plenty going on. No slack really and very little support for senior staff (regarding back-up cover for illness).
I just got into work this morning, intending to stay a few hours - but the MD has phoned in sick and I'm the only other one with factory keys <wah>
So I guess I'm in for the day.

Apologies again for not updating my stats tables.
The pain seems to have settled down to a level that allows me to work, but not relax or sleep very well.
And it doesn't seem to be getting any better now. From what I've read about it I could be this way until the New Year.

And it seems I have little choice but to go back to work full time, despite a doctor's note. Other people are off sick and on statutory leave, and the day-to-day running of the firm will break down if it is not attended to.
Hey ho. I know feeling sorry for myself isn't going to help. Plenty of other folk have to put up with worse and still get things done.

My symptoms have eased off a bit, I can spend some more time using the PC.

I've just updated the Men's 2022-23 season stats thread, will update the Women's stats thread later.
A belated well done Charlton Women, beating Palace 1-2 away last weekend <applause>

Also there are some Travels reports to add in the near future <ok>
