Taking Roca off was a huge mistake and cost us the game.

Unfortunately Jesse tried to do what worked last week, rather than identifying that this week all the threat was down our left side. Had he bolstered the left side by bringing Firpo on to help Pascal and/or Gyabi in the middle we might have hung on.

Shame as it was a great away performance and absolutely sickening to lose it like that at the end.

Kin my opinion Eric the game turned on the ridiculous decision for spuds first goal. I rarely question officials but this was ridiculous and clearly a pro Kane decision. I expected that in fairness with World Cup around the corner. Defensive frailties certainly but you won’t go to London and get a result with decisions like that going against you. Anyway three hours later and I’m not as angry. You go and have a watch see what you think
You wouldn't even have got away with that in Rugby League, they were escorting Meslier into the back of the net and the ball was nowhere near them. A couple of lucky deflection for them as well.

Agreed. I can’t criticise any individual Leeds player - they gave their all. Once again went toe to toe against one of the big money clubs in their own back yard and more or less matched them without getting the breaks.

Obviously one or two of our players aren’t top notch PL quality but that’s hardly their fault.

All we can ask is that they give 100% for the cause - and they did.

And with the younger players looking more than ready the future looks bright.

Confident we’ll maintain our PL status relatively comfortably.

Hopefully board doesn’t look at that and think we’ll be fine till end of season with what we have. Suspect they will though

They’ll work on game management situations. It’s inconceivable that they don’t practice 5 at the back as a way of closing games out. So it’s great with hindsight to blame the manager’s ludicrous substitutions… even though he takes roca off every week because he’s generally shagged.

If he doesn’t make changes, he’s a clown for not making them. If he makes changes and the opposition score with a deflection, he’s a clown for changing a winning formula.

Personally I think he is s bit slow/reluctant to change tired legs in games where we look like we’re gassing, but to be honest I also think we’re short of like for like experienced replacements to help see games out.

Jesse got it wrong today.

Last week he was 10/10 on substitutions.

Marche is paid the big bucks to sense what changes will help the team the most in each individual game and not manage by numbers. Hopefully he'll learn and improve because today we were very good apart from those last 10 mins or so.

Maybe last week he spun the dice and just got lucky. Maybe this week he made sensible game management decisions that got shagged by a deflection and poor play from his players that couldn't be accounted for. I'm sure Risty would at least agree with the first sentence <laugh>

It is what it is - the manager can take the plaudits when it works and the blame when it doesn't - but it doesn't necessary mean the logic was flawed.

Marsch is actually like Bielsa in the sense he wants to attack and outscore teams so we're going to leave spaces and concede goals... but it's clear we're leaking too many. He needs to sort that. It's hard to say how much is system and how much is personnel - but some of it is definitely the latter.

But maybe, the thick/clueless/whatever yank, should get at least some credit that we're going to places like liverpool and spurs and giving a good account of ourselves.

And conte was ten minutes away from looking a fool and is regarded as one of the worlds best <ok>

And Hassenhuttle outwitted Jesse and still got the sack...

Have I missed your point somewhat or was the last 10 mins just a bad dream and we won really ?

At the time our third went in,a few of ours, especially in midfield were looking leggy, Spurs were obviously going to throw everything at us,so the decision had to be made to shore things up, Ayling was the obvious choice but it just didn't work, perhaps he could have bought Firpo on and moved Struijk into the middle. The problem today was there was little on the bench to make an improvement on how the game was panning out. I think the idea of the sub was what was needed, it was how it was executed that was the problem.

We only had 1 midfielder on the bench, Gyabi.
Maybe keep the formation and bring him on instead of going 5 at the back, a formation I personally have never liked.

It worked at Liverpool and when we went down to 10 against Villa, looking at it yesterday though, it looked like they'd not even worked on it in training.

You know how it works @Gessa. When we win we are lucky, when we lose its all Ted Lasso's fault.
