His brother presumably has the same connection, yet he still plays for Germany.
    He hasn't retired, either.

I didn't make any claims about KPB's connection to Ghana, by the way, merely what his actions have suggested.
He played for Germany at every level below full international and hasn't even managed to hit double figures for his 'new' side before quitting.

But he had the choice though. And its his right to pick. Was it selfish? Probaly. But he was lucky that he had the choice of countries. Bale can't so not sure why you brought him up.

    Seriously?
Read my comment again and think about it.
    It's really, really obvious.

Yes, he might if that were true, but it's not.
Replace England with Brazil or Holland and the situation's the same.
The player may be better off professionally, but representing your country isn't really about furthering your career, in my opinion.

Well in the end we think differently about this topic. If in another parallel universe, I became a pro-footballer and had the chance to pick between two national teams then I would pick the one which will be best for my career. But I am a selfish ****.

This. I'd pick the country my heart was most fond of and the one I'd play more passionately for. If people are doing it just to simply further their career then they don't deserve to play for their country IMO.

    Typical Gooner! <laugh>

How would you judge which one was better for your career, anyway?
You might pick the better side, but then fail to get into it.

    Don't be silly, SF.
The only person that KPB loves is KPB!

With the exception of Flamini, he was the most obnoxious player Milan had on the pitch against us. Then again, he was also obnoxious when on loan at Portsmouth, obnoxious in our reserves, and obnoxious at Hertha Berlin.

So that's two very good reasons they chose Mesut Ozil instead...

If you can be more obnoxious than Ibrahimovic, then you know you've got a problem.

That's the problem with Comolli's grab-bag transfer policy, there was no consideriation of how they'd...
    a.) Fit into the team
b.) Get on with their teammates

KPB and Taarabt spent most of their time at the club talking themselves out of the first team, then finally talked themselves out the door - I don't think too many people miss them. Hell, this season I doubt that Taarabt fanboy from Old606 can justify any reason for Taarabt being in our reserves, let alone first team squad...

Can't disagree with any of that, Croydon.
He picked up some talented individuals, but he overpaid and bought in players in positions that we were already strong in.

No sign of him doing that at Liverpool though, eh? <whistle>

To be fair to KPB, he was played out of position on the right wing, which wasn't his fault or Jol's fault.

KPB wanted to play behind a striker, which given we had Berbatov/Keane up front and a midfield that was weak defensively, would've been suicide.

According to KPB, though, on his first day at the club Jol flatly told him that he didn't want to sign him which, if true (because a lot of crap comes out of KPB's mouth, is worthy of doubt) isn't the example of best man management on the planet.
