After last night, I am now firmly in the Nige out camp!

I don't think right now would be a good time to change Manager, and who, that's any good, is going to want to come here if we sack Pearson given the financial constraints ?

About the only name I can think of would be Sean Dyche and there's no guarantee he would be approached by the board, or be interested in the job if he was.

If we look to be in serious danger of relegation in the New Year, then maybe I'll change my mind.

Nige just spunked away the chance of a big money tie with that team selection last night. In the current financial climate, that is unforgivable for me

Still Nige in, but he has to turn it around quick. A loss on Saturday and I may change my mind. I’ve been fully behind him, on the whole so far, I’m beginning to waver.

Preston went for the relatively unknown in Ryan Lowe. No money and one place outside play offs.

Any manager coming in would know we’ve no money and would for now have to work with who we have.
Dyche though hated his time with us, so I suspect I’ve more chance of getting ID’d in a pub than him coming here,

If we lose on Saturday, I can see him going, as it would be the perfect time to get someone in during this ****ty world cup thing!!

I've said this sort of before, but I can't understand how we could be playing so well a few weeks ago, then so badly as we are now. It is getting to the point where I believe that the issues of consistency are down to NP. I don't know why I think that, but I do.

Lately there has been to many games where players have been below par, we had enough experienced players in the lineup last night, unfortunately they didn’t turn up… again.

Nige always sums their performance up well, but unlike the rest of of us it’s his job to correct things. For whatever reason he more often than not fails. He has been given a difficult challenge, due to issues we are all aware of, however, those things aren’t going to change & relegation would be a complete disaster.

If we lose Saturday the board will be under increasing pressure to act. Whether anyone else could do any better is debatable, but I’m not sure we can afford not to at least try.

Other clubs do that too, but it doesn't always work.
With any change of Manager it's always a gamble, no matter what their CV might say or what they've achieved elsewhere.

His percentage win record since Leicester is 28.7%

A few hang on to the Leicester time.
A lot hang onto the fact it isn’t LJ, DH and Ashton running the show now.

I’m really in two minds after watching most games since Nige has been with us..
I still can’t make my mind up to whether he’s a good manager or one that has the brain cells to be one but is unable to put it into practice..
He certainly talks a good game, but is that all he’s got..
I really really wanted him to turn it around even if it meant RR gloating at every opportunity.. I could live with that.. but he’s not getting any consistently from the players even when he has a full squad to choose from..
I do see from time to time that his selection, his subs, his tactics his style of play is the cause of our problems (imo). That bit worries me..
I’d like to give him a few more games after the World Cup to see where we’re at before making my mind up.. and like Some others have said, somebody decent needs to come in to replace and I’m not sure what’s out there that’s 1. Any good and 2. If they’d want to come here..

I'm still in the 'keep Nige' camp but it's crucial things improve rapidly, we have got the world cup break coming up, that should give time for injuries to heal, sickness in the camp to be cured, egos and reputations to be repaired and serious improvements in coaching and trust to be resumed.

The old times of volume signings, mass expenditure, trading players to recover the family silver and camouflage wasted losses are over, that business model failed and MA &LJ with it, initial success was followed by OOC players, gut busting , long, expensive contracts, hangers on, followed by a calamitous £38.4m debt, then a covid 19 pandemic.

The guy has had 2 years nearly, had to make cheapskate signings or freebies for us to survive, business wise he has done well for the club but his attitude is arrogant, personal traits annoying, he needs some financial backing to bring in some quality, if things carry on as they are it's obvious he has got to go, the choice lays with SL give him some financial space on a moderate scale or the boot, it's as simple as that.

I completely agree, the only thing I’d add is we MUST stay up. I get twitchy when championship status looks in doubt. He has to get us more stable at the back.

    I agree with most of that but;
    1. Under the LJ reign, there was no threat of relegation.
    2. Nige has said on numerous occasions that even if he had the funds he wouldn’t go all out to sign players and rather it came from the academy (which I agree with by the way, unless is was a specific player that would be the difference)
In which case it’s down to Nige to get the best of what we’ve got and get them playing at a decent and more important a consistent manner.. which as it stands he is failing to do..

I think the league table is a bit more accurate now than when we had the discussion a week or two ago.. :emoticon-0103-cool:

I don't want to ressurrect the LJ discussion but there was never any threat of promotion either.

It’s accurate now, then it was accurate then, remind me how many points have we won since then?

Rotherham won at Sheffield U last night, they are 14th, had they lost they’d be below us. The table is so tight a couple of wins makes a heck of a difference, likewise a couple of losses.

But others have, that had played fewer games, that’s why it’s more accurate now..

Our form shows more to what’s below us rather than what’s above..

The seasons in question showed us above half way or around the playoffs..
