SAS Rogue Heroes is a good watch. 6 episodes on BBC iPlayer. ( 8.564321953427/10 from me ) the ending was slightly dodgy but then isn't everything nowadays?
Saw an episode last night, good fun, although all the characters are clearly psychopaths. Don’t really care if it’s true or not, although it is claimed to be.
Great shout and only watched it on yours and Steels recommendation. Found the first 1 1/2 episodes a bit dull and didn’t think I was gonna enjoy it….but by episode 3 (which I’ve just finished now) it starts to get very good and now really enjoying it
And as you both said, great soundtrack…..Sham 69, The Damned, The Clash…..fantastic !!
Interestingly enough, it made me look into a few of the characters involved and to read about their stories…..****ing hell, what brave men they were and worth seeing what happened to a few of them after wards.
Thanks for recommending

It might be worth watching the documentary about the writer of the show to see how realistic it is ...
BBC iPlayer - SAS: Rogue Warriors - Series 1: Episode 1
Could never really get into peaky blindersThanks nines, will definitely give that a watch after finishing Rogue Heroes(1 episode left). After a bit of research, I did look at Paddy Maynes after story and it really was quite sad and tragic....never realised he was an international Rugby player (Ireland and British Lions). Sad he died so young.
On another note, it’s now quite obvious that Rogue Heroes is from the same people who brought us Peaky Blinders....very similar in the way they use modern music in an old time setting and visually alike.
All in all a very good series that I’m now hooked on.....thanks lads

Nines- Out of curiosity, what did you find ‘slightly dodgy’ about the ending ? From what I’ve read and looked up it all seems pretty accurate as to what happened and how things panned out
Am I missing something ? The love interest perhaps ?
I'll have to watch the last episode again mate and let you know Stainsey. The love interest didn't sit right with me , but there was something else or maybe not? I'll have a watch and get back to you. I can't remember what happened yesterday, let alone last week. But I do find find most things , whether they're TV shows, Books or films don't end satisfactorily. Hopefully I'll remember to get back to you![]()
Cool mate….no massive deal at all, just I’m genuinely curious to know if I missed something.Don’t wanna say too much in case I ruin it for others but other than the love interest and the “traitor raid” part, it all seemed to have a lot of factual content. They seemed to have set it up for another series I’m sure.
Did you read up on what happened to some of them after the series ended ? So interesting and a great series.
I'm off to bed now me old mate, but I used to do karate. My instructor was an SAS bloke named Robin Horsfall ( look him up ) and he was as hard as they came. He shot one of the Iranian terrorists in the 1980 siege. I got to meet a lot of these guys as our training HQ was in Hereford. The original SAS were psychopath's but my wife's uncle was one of the original members. He was an engineer and a paratrooper who thought in the battle of Montecassino He was a pretty normal bloke and never really spoke about the war, but after his death we came across the paper work of what he actually did. Quite incredible.
Has anybody seen Netflix’s “All Quiet On The Western Front”? What a great and moving adaptation. Huge budget and beautifully filmed. Recommend watch the German language version with subtitles rather than the dubbed edition as feels more authentic.
Watched it last weekend. Was very good and really makes you think what a waste of life it all was. I made the mistake of watching the dubbed version though, it definitely loses some emotion (I assume, I haven't watched the original in German).Has anybody seen Netflix’s “All Quiet On The Western Front”?
