Former Spurs midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has announced his decision to retire from international football.
Having played an enormous 9 games for Ghana, he's realised just how traumatic running about a bit can be and has decided to quit claiming that, "the physical demands of playing for both club and country at high levels are taking a toll on his health".
He's 24.

I'm going to guess that he either has some very specific injury problems or that he's a bit of a bellend.
Possibly both.

It's entirely necessary, in my opinion.
If far better (and far worse) players than he is can manage it, then I can't see what's stopping him, assuming that he doesn't have something physically wrong with him.
Judging by his time at Spurs, I'd guess that it was more of a mental problem.

He reminds me of Taarabt, to be honest.
Lots of attitude without the application to back it up.

Harsh. KPB has made it at a top club like Milan through hard work and even in his brief time with Ghana he played well in the world cup. I watched a game where he came off the bench and scored 3 in a game where Milan were 3 down at half-time. Taarabt has been exposed for the rubbish player he is when QPR made the step up to the prem.

I don't think that anyone's suggesting that there's something 'wrong' with Ghana exactly, but he'd have had a better chance of winning things with Germany.
That's assuming that he'd have actually have been selected to play for them, which seems less likely than getting into the Ghana side at the moment.

The upcoming African Cup of Nations may have prompted this move.
Perhaps someone at Milan had a word?
 
Ghana have so many young players coming through that would make them a force at the next world cup. The two Ayew brothers for a start. Gyan is still young enough. KPB will hopefully change his mind. Love watching Ghana play. They play the game with a smile on their face. Something the guys that play for England could learn from.

Woah. You said he picked the wrong one (Ghana) and now you say he can't get in the Germany team. So what is it you twat?
 
If he hadn't joined Spurs he probably would have ended up playing for Germany, his career stalled for a couple of years (his fault entirely) and Ghana stepped in. Seems a little ridiculous though and doesn't help the perception that he has an attitude problem, I suspect playing in Italy with a bunch of prime donne doesn't help with that.

Ok. Probaly should not have used that word. But he still needs to explain what I said that makes me an idiot. He said first, that KPB picked the wrong country and in the second point he said he can't in the German team. So what is it? Or does this guy think that KPB picked Germany and plays for them?
 
Be the star of a young team on the rise like Ghana or be a bench player for a top three side like Germany? Depends on who you are. But for me, KPB picked the right team and maybe like PNP said he has done this in order to give the ACON a miss.
 
Ensil, serious question here, what's the skiing like in Finland? (I see your location is Oulu, which is a resort I was looking at!)
 
For me, the correct country is the one that you feel most allegiance to and most want to play for.
Quality of the side and your prospects within that side are irrelevant.

I don't think that the same is true of KPB.

Would Bale have better prospects as an international player if he were to play for England?
Possibly.
Would he feel the same pride pulling on the shirt?
Doubtful.
 
His dad is from Ghana. He has a connection to that country because of that. Does Bale have the same link with England?
