I agree in the main, but it's hard to get the little buggers off the laptop playing games with their mates. My nephew doesn't like football because his Mam reckons football fans are too passionate about the game.I could read and write before starting school. So could my kids. Parents taking an interest and reading to them and giving them things to read instead of letting them gaze at a screen to keep them quiet helped.
It's a real shame because I almost had him hooked on City until the FA Cup final.
He wasn't allowed to go, but watched it on the telly. He was about four and got so excited he forgot to use the toilet. He just didn't want to miss a thing. Then at tea time he started banging his knife and fork on the table, chanting "we are ull, we are ull, WE ARE ULL!
I even started coaching him a few things and honestly, he was doing so well, remember he was only four at the time, trapping the ball and giving it straight t back to me.
Anyway, his worrying mom, worried away and she put a stop to all of that.
He's fourteen now and just goes gaming. I don't think he's ever climbed a tall tree or had a Kebab.
City will probably sign him up
