Just seen that France beat Wales 154-6 in the wheelchair rugby. Hard to understand how 2 sides can be so far apart.

At what point did Wales rally with their 6 points?

Dunno, just saw the result. Saw some highlights though and the French were lightning fast.

Not sure being able-bodied is much of an advantage, you're still strapped to a wheelchair.

I take your point but it just doesn't sit right with me. I also question why someone would want to be in a wheelchair if they didn't need it, just feels weird and patronising.

Sure, it does seem odd but you could argue that it takes the 'disability' aspect out of the sport. It just becomes rugby played in wheelchairs, and why not? Disabled people might prefer to be known as athletes in a sport that's just different, rather than be labelled as disabled athletes? Just a thought.

You make a good point, I guess without asking them all we will never know, and it probbaly doesnt matter. I guess subconciously I am comparing it to paraolympic events but I admit to have never seen it advertised as a disability sport.

Great game between Tonga and Samoa in front of what looked suspiciously like a full house with no doubt millions watching globally. Samoa through to the semis to face England.

Caught a couple of minutes whilst channel hopping. Long enough to see plenty of empty seats in a 15,000 stadium for a World Cup semi final.
Meanwhile 82,000 were at Twickenham for a major upset from a low ranked country.

Prices for the World Cup were set too high at the off, they were reduced for this game. All the seats at the ends and corners of the ground, ie the cheaper ones, sold out. I watched the whole game, there were not 'plenty' of empty seats. England at Twickenham could be playing Lithunanian 3rds and it would sell out. People like going to Twickenham, it's an occasion.
