They sit 23rd, having sacked Steve Bruce at the beginning of October, and replaced him with former Huddersfield boss, Carlos Corberan. They've since won two games and lost three, and find themselves 23rd in the league, with 17 points from 3 wins and 8 draws. Their top scorer is Karlan Grant, with 4 goals. As for us, a good away point at Norwich last night sees us sit 4th in the table, now 7 points behind top spot, and 3 points ahead of 7th placed Swansea. The biggest news from us was the return of Willock last night, who so nearly announced his return with a goal, instead hitting the base of the post. Given that Willock is still our top scorer, with 6 goals, even having been out for a number of games, his importance is obvious. Here's hoping his return to the team will see us score a few more. Otherwise, at times we played some good football last night, and against a worse side could well have got all three points. Would be great to get the win on Saturday, to remain firmly in the playoff spots, and within touching distance of the top two. Team News QPR: Stefan Johansen, Jake Clarke-Salter, Tyler Roberts and Jimmy Dunne are out, whilst Chris Willock could return West Bromwich Albion: Karlan Grant is out, whilst Daryl Dike and Semi Ajayi are doubts. Pre-match Talk Mick Beale (QPR head coach): “ "It's important we have a strong week now going into the World Cup break. "We want to be as high up the table as we can - then we can rest and reset ahead of the remainder of the season. "We have to make sure that doesn't start against us. West Brom are a good team with lots of dangerous individuals. "It's going to be an extremely tough game, but I'm looking forward to it and getting back to Loftus Road." Carlos Corberán WBA Head Coach): “We have to be focused and go into the game with determination to achieve the three points. We know the challenge that we have. For me the position in the table of QPR is the result of positive performance and of a team that is well organised by the coach. They have some good players.” ...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
Those stats for Sam Field for us are a bit out of date Dave. He's scored a couple for us too now I think too. I think Tim Iroegbunam came through West Brom's youth teams before he went to Villa.
Does the tram get you anywhere useful? I was moving my daughter into the flat she is sharing with some friends in Balham on Tuesday, and saw my first London tram, signed for Wimbledon. I’m not much of a south of the river bloke, so it was a bit of a surprise when we were stopped at a red light to see it gliding by. Balham/Streatham Hill seemed nice enough places, though a bastard to get to from north west of London.
Pondering it at the moment. If I do I’m likely to get conned into an extra trip down to Balham to take my daughter all the stuff she forgot to put in the van on Tuesday…..
If you've plenty of time a 468 bus from Croydon to Camberwell Green and a 148 to the Bush is one I've done before...
East Croydon trains running to Victoria, think 12.55 & 13.25, that’s the way I will go & underground, last trains back from Victoria to east Croydon is 17.29 & 17.50
I remember Ishmael Miller's 1 goal for us well, last minute or so against Leicester in our promotion win. Really ripped the roof off LR that one. Actually if it that goal is as I remember it's the sort of thing we want to see from young Sinclair, all about pace and power.
Just popped up……just hoping it isn’t rearranged for the 23rd when I’m meant to be seeing a Gong/Ozric Tenticles gig in Camden
Bloody hell those blokes must be much older than me if any of the original members survive. Not sure why the strikes have been called off, hopefully a settlement is near.
