    I'm always worried about this. I feel a Trippier injury could really de-rail us. Most other positions we seem to be able to cover. Bruno would be terrible of course but we would be able to cover easier.

    Willocks passing stats are up there with the best in the league. I fear Jonjo might get in next week

    A very small part of me wants him to start and we lose just so that I can lambast him even more

    I'm going to predict we get linked with a raft of players in the next fortnight now Footymanager 23 is out (beta)

    As soon as the wonderkid list grows we'll be linked with dozens of them <laugh>

    Newcastle are going to have to yield to the constraints of FFP in the next window or 2... I suppose they might look to cash in on the likes of max

    Quick calculation here for yous then.

    30,000 st holders hitting roughly £650 each on average = £19.5m
    99 boxes starting at £40,000 each = £3.9m
    3,000 corporate seats spending £10,000 each on average = £30m
    and another 19,000 single tickets costing about £40 each on average over 19 games = £19m
    Castore = £5m
    Fun 88 = £5m
    Noon = £7.5m
    Sodexo (Food and Drink) contract £2.5m
    Sky money for last season £131.5m

    That lot is £223.4m

    Think we're fine.

    Thats not including programmes, Shearers bar, Ground Tours, advertising boards, new sponsors, comission for shirt sales.

    Me think Fat Mike has been a lying **** too <whistle>

    They'll cash in on players along the way and for good amounts. Max seems the most sellable player at the moment. He'll fetch a decent amount of interest and pounds.

    I was watching the West Ham v Man Utd game yesterday and was quite impressed with Benrahma, I’d have him over ASM like I reckon. He looks a right handful, runs and runs forever, tracks back when he needs to and when he ends up on the deck he just gets up and gets on with it instead of rolling around like his leg has been snapped in two. I’ve not seen anything of him really other than yesterdays game but it’s that type of player we need over a show pony like ASM who only turns up when he feels like it for a big game. Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying I ain’t a fan of ASM as he is simply unplayable when he’s on it, he’s just not on it that much and I think he’s pretty much been found out now after his first couple of seasons. Keep him as an impact sub or ship him out.

    Everything for us that leads to chances/goals is generally coming down our right with Tripps, Miggy and Bruno all linking up pinging passes around and playing nice little triangle passes, very rarely does anything come off from down our left and I think that’s the area to work on next for us. Dan Burn ain’t the answer at left back and Targett as good as he has been for us isn’t of the same quality as the chap over on the other side of the back four. Maddison and someone to replace/challenge ASM in Jan for me please. If we get that in Jan then come the summer we can go balls deep looking for a top quality LB / LWB and some replacements for Fraser/Murphy.

    E764DC08-4EE0-4FA5-A7EA-D3A827FC5FE8.png Two years turnover with 2019 bring pre takeover and covid showing 170+ million turnover. Your figures are about right mate and that’s without the said points and increases to commercial income.

    Obviously Noon is an increase with shirt sleeve sponsor, and the Sky money is quite a bit larger now due to the new foreign TV rights deal that was struck.

    Tickets will be far better in both the hospitality sectors and the main stands and obviously the memberships will boost income a little too.

    The main thing we need to do is bin off Sodexo so the club gets the income from food and drink which it currently doesn't.

    Take into account one of those seasons was the one where 10,000 st were given away for nothing n all.

    Sell Max while his stock is still somewhat OK and get top 7 then we have paid off pretty much everything.

    Then we can spend more

    I think what we need to bear in mind is Saint Maximin, on his day, is unplayable. In the past, those 'days' are 1 in 5. But he's being coached by Eddie now - so I say we wait and see. Grass isn't always greener and if Eddie can work on ASM's mentality/decision making to make him more consistent, he could be one of the best wingers in the world. He's still relatively young and as you can see at City it's not always the glamour names who make the difference. Mahrez, Silva, Foden are just consistent performers but none has the raw ability of ASM. If at the end of the season ASM is still just an entertainer, then we probably will get rid and there'll be no shortage of takers.

    The beauty of what Eddie Howe has done has to accelerate our progress through exceptional coaching. What I mean is, a year ago we were all in despair at the thought of Almiron, Longstaff, Willock, Joelinton and maybe even Schar being a starter. Now Schar is showing what he's all about, the transformation happening with YOUNG midfielders and the complete reinvention of Almiron has now meant we can be incredibly selective in the market. Every window I expect we'll add one, maybe two, top-class first teamers or very talented youngsters and just keep evolving. I think a lot of us, a year ago, were saying we needed to have Forest levels of inbound. Not the case. Now when a player turns up it'll be another Botman or Bruno and just keep taking us up a level. As soon as next season we could be competing for the ****ing title. Madness.

    This - although I would switch preference for a WF/CF first and foremost. Midfield 5 of Bruno, Joelinton, Willock, Longstaff and Shelvey + Elliot coming through suits us fine and they are doing the business now! Past Miggy and St Max we have Fraser and Murphy - who is actually looking like he could be a good 4th choice wingers.

    disagree re selling Max. If you've got a player with that kind of talent and he's also still young we have to try and get the most out of it. Teams are going to make it more and more difficult for us and you need players who can come up with a bit of magic. Prior to the injury he looked to be upping his consistency under Eddie's coaching and you have to remember at the end of the day he has consistently delivered for us in pretty desperate times when the coaching and as a result most of the playing staff were not up to it. The injuries or whatever is going on are a problem though. If there is some issue there with getting him on the pitch that may change matters.
