Match Preview;
Birmingham city sit 15th in the Championship, with 20 points. Their top scorer, and obvious main threat, is Scott Hogan who has 7 goals so far this season. In total, they've only scored 16 this season, only Coventry and Cardiff have scored less (12). A glance through their squad, and interesting to note that John Ruddy is still playing, and although he was expected to be back up when he signed in July, he has played 16 games for them...they also have Jobe Bellingham, younger brother of Jude Bellinham.
As for us, we sit 2nd, two points behind with Burnley, who won on Tuesday night, and level with Blackburn on 30 points. We have a game in hand on both those two teams. Our top scorer is still Willock on 6 goals, with Dykes now on 5. Willock is now back in training, but this game will surely come too soon. Would be so disappointing to bring him back too soon and have him out injured again (for further discussion on this topic go https://www.not606.com/threads/willock-set-to-return.403232/#post-16238207)
Team News
QPR: Late checks will be made on Chris Willock and Tyler Roberts.
Birmingham: George Friend could return. Gary Gardner, Nico Gordon, Przemyslaw Placheta and Marc Roberts are all likely to remain unavailable.
Pre-match Talk
Mick Beale (QPR head coach): "We’re delighted to have things back to normal and we’re excited about Friday’s game - it should be a great encounter.
"John’s another first-time manager who has done well. Him and Mark [Warburton] did a really positive job at QPR and he has put real spirit into Birmingham’s players.
"They have a very good squad with a range of different ages. This is a really tough away game."
John Eustace (Birmingham head coach): "I have nothing but good memories of my time at QPR.
"They are an excellent team with a really good manager - as long as we're competitive, we'll see where that takes us.
"The lads are angry with the goals we conceded (in Birmingham's defeat at Blackburn). We didn't deserve to lose the game and the players are looking to put that right."
COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
