From what Eddie said, it sounds like Joelinton has been playing through injury for a few weeks now. So maybe he just needs a rest so he can recover and get back to how he was 2nd half of last season. Problem is we don't have many suitable back up options.
Usually Spurs are a team to fear but Conte has them playing some batshit boring football this season and bar Leicester and Soton (6-2/4-1) they haven't won a league game by more than 2 goals and only managed 2 goal victories twice so far vs Forest and Everton, while we have the best defensive record so there's cause to be optimistic. If you asked me now I'd take a point but a win takes us to within 2 points of them with a better goal difference...even a narrow loss isn't an awful result.
We won't get much from this game. Spurs will win. Won't be a thrashing but I think it'll be a bit much with our threadbare squad. If ASM and Isak were available I'd have been more confident.
We’ve only conceded 1 penalty goal in the last four games with Burn at LB and we scored 4 at Fulham 5 home to Brentford whilst picking up 10 points out of 12
They normally only miss a game if she is in labour. He should be fine. Rather they sent Shelvey to help out with the baby so Bruno can play.
Was hoping this might also be on Amazon Prime but looks like they only get a few odd weeks. Next one is Boxing Day when our game with Leicester is on.
Having watched Spurs two or three times this year they are not the same team they were last year. They seem to have lost the ability to break quickly which was a feature of their game. They seem to be much more focussed on defending deep and without Kulesevski don’t seem to be able to attack quickly, which is why Son seems less effective. I would go for the high press against them rather than sit back. They looked awful against Man United when Utd pressed. If you sit back their midfield get more time. Its noticeable that the sides who sit back against them tend to eventually concede but pressing pays dividends.
Isak is out till after the World Cup. ASM suffered a setback when he cut off blood flow to his quadriceps with one of his support bandages.
Yeah, hopefully the high press works better against them now than it would have last season. That said, they are 3rd in the league, so they are doing something right. Certainly no easy game, especially after that physical mid week match vs Everton. Hopefully we don't have any new injuries from that one. I'd be happy to get anything out of this one, but I'm kind of going in expecting a defeat. Hope I'm wrong.
They have done badly against the top sides (of which we are almost one) but picked up their points against the sides who go to defend deep.
