and a good result in view of MTA's previous excellent home European record but I think that even the Vale could have looked good against them

Yes we worked hard and defended well but I would love us to play with a bit of style I do not expect us to be cavalier ( not that we ever could) and risk spoilimg Pulis's anti relegation record but whilst we knock it around fairly comfortably at the back we seem devoid of ideas once we cross half way However I guess if you sign brick s**ihouse workhorses you get what you pay for

May be I expect too much and perhaps my PC stream with the commentary in Hebrew was not an accurate reflection

Respect to all those who paid hard earned money to be there and support in torrential rain

I watched it on ESPN my mate has it.. <ok>
WE just sat back, once Crouch scored our 2nd goal true enough but, I thought with Wilko playing left winger, Shotton wide right we did OK.

Shalem <doh> SIS I waa lucky to get English commentary. <ok> but Pat Nevin persisted in saying, "Stoke seem to bypass their midfield too often and lack quality" Well NO **** Sherlock what's new there then.
He was right of course. Nevin also said this. "Stoke are much better with two out and out wingers.. YES we are. And i'm sure had Ether's and Pennant played we would have mullered them. As you said a win is a win.

    Maybe not Smither's..
I was just thinking that the way the game went, Shotton had numerous chances to put in a decent cross and failed.. Pennant wouldn't have done that. Still, a win and let's hope they are fit and ready for Sunday. I did however like the idea of three at the back and Diao in front of Huth, Upson and Higgy did OK for me.
