Johnson admitted he had been briefed orally on Pincher's early misdemeanours, and should have acted at the time. It was his ill discipline on this and a number of other matters that cost him his job. No lie has been proven against him on any matter while he was PM so far as I'm aware. I admit he's difficult to pin down because his inattention to detail and proclivity to exaggerate makes it difficult to prove intent to deceive.
Nice attack, based on precisely nothing I said. I never mentioned his lying. Of course he lied, repeatedly. All politicians do. He was a serial lier. I merely mentioned all the outcry over party gate etc. Virtue signalling at its finest and compared it to the state Truss has got us into. Mordant is looking quite competent imo.
Ok. In what way was my post ‘virtue signalling’? I’m not trying to demonstrate my good character at all, I’m a nasty, hypocritical bastard and happy to be one. Perhaps we have different understandings of what virtue signalling is. Or perhaps you weren’t referring to me.
I presume now that the mini budget has been nearly all reversed, it makes the Tories now part of the anti growth coalition?
More and more will do this unless the Old Bill are there to take the side of the vandals and prevent them from having to stop blocking the highway. Bizarre situation
The operative word there was throughout. Are you OK, Goldie? I don't think there are many out there who would argue that Johnson is just misunderstood, rather than a persistent purveyor of porkies.
The only one I knew off the top of my head was Baldwin, Chamberlain and Churchill who all served as PM between the '35 and '45 General Elections. Obviously a longer Parliament. Wiki also tells me: "Between the general elections of 1761 and 1768: the Duke of Newcastle (resigned 26 May 1762), Lord Bute (resigned 8 April 1763), George Grenville (resigned 10 July 1765), Lord Rockingham (resigned 30 July 1766) and Lord Chatham (until dissolution of the parliament)." 'In the shorter interval between the general elections of 1780 and 1784: Lord North (resigned 27 March 1782), Lord Rockingham (second ministry, died in office 1 July 1782), Lord Shelburne (resigned 26 March 1783), the Duke of Portland (resigned 18 December 1783) and William Pitt the Younger (until dissolution of the parliament)."
So are we now claiming Johnson hasn’t, lied? Purposely mislead? ****ing hell. Semantics, 10 Olympic golds for mental gymnastics for that one. Whilst people make excuses for him and the likes we’ll continue to get more of the same at least their wealthy mates will continue to profit.
if this lot dont pay for the milk i hope they get charged with shoplifting and send the ****ers a massive bill for the clean up too
Yes, he admitted that when he had no choice after he and his minions had denied it for days. That’s what I call lying. What ‘proof’ would be enough for you? I honestly don’t understand why this is such an issue for you. The blokes a liar, he has been sacked in the past for lying, he lies for a hobby. Of course other politicians and other people are liars too, but he’s a world class fibber.
He's an exaggerator to an extreme level. The point I'm making really is that he has not been found to have deliberately deceived Parliament . My operative word there is deliberately
Another poor performance by Truss in front of the One Nation group of Tory MPs by all accounts. I’m beginning to think Mordaunt repeated the line about Truss being under her desk on purpose, to fix the image in people’s minds.
Do you think he lied to his ex wives when he was ****ing about on them?? From the party that bring you traditional family values
