Greenwood has been charged with Att. Rape and related offences in addition to breach of his bail conditions for which he has been arrested and remanded in custody. Innocent until proven guilty, however the club have been paying him £75k per week since his initial arrest in January. The time has come to terminate his contract and cut ties with this toxic individual. If he wants to sue the club, fine, at least we will have been seen to do the right thing.

Well you say innocent until proven guilty so why not wait? Tbh being charged is probably the best thing for him to clear his name. Had they dropped the case he'd have had it hanging over him always, which is what ppl tend to do. Does depend on him being innocent though. If he's guilty then fck him.

From a purely footballing point of view, what a massive loss he is. Can you imagine how good we'd be up front... especially with his pace, ability to go past defenders and in terms of our finishing , if he was playing with the current attack.

Are you fkn mad - do you want this club to be in any way associated with an alleged rapist?? The moral imperative is to cut him adrift, to demonstrate as a club that we cannot and will not condone violence of any kind, to do anything less will drag the club down. If, in time he is proven innocent he can sue us for loss of earnings etc etc - but we cannot have this **** associated with our club in the months ahead while this plays out in the main stream media and social media around the globe.

Well he's been on our books for the past 10 months. Suspended. The club are under no critism and rightly so.

If he goes to trial and proves himself to be innocent how would that be being associated with a rapist??

The only problem in all this is the length of time to go to trial. If it's looking like a year away, then I can't see him lasting. I bet that will be the major factor in whether we cut him loose or not.

That should tell you all you need to know and even that has now changed from rape to attempted rape.
The club are already associated with the player as he was a regular first team player at the time of the "alleged" assault. They have acted correctly by suspending him until the matter is proved one way or the other and not making their own judgement by sacking him which would only bias his case in the mind of a court jury (well his club sacked him and they MUST know what happened).

You do know Ronaldo is an "alleged" rapist too i take it?

It's weird bcos only yesterday I saw that him and his missus apparently started following each other again on insta or some bollox social media site. I think they put a picture up as well. That's supposed to mean something apparently, I don't fcking know tbh. But it's weird, that happened yesterday then he's charged today.

This is rapidly going to get messy across all media platforms and the club have to distance themselves from all of it sooner rather than later. Our contractual liability to him is £300 per month - ten months £3m. I say pay him the money to terminate his contract, a pittance in this day and age, but it completely distances the club from the media fallout that will follow us for a year or more.

And if he's found not guilty do we beg him to come back and say sorry for making judgement on him?

There is a reason we have a criminal justice system, it's supposed to stop people being found guilty and hanged in the court of popular opinion.

Any thoughts on our association with Ronaldo?

I think the club is doing what is should/has to legally.

It doesn't back him, or condemn him.
The legal process will have to run its course. He'll never work at United again, whatever happens.

Bugs a bit, because if I was accused by social media of something I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be paid, but people in such a spotlight have more tight contracts than we do.

As for Ronaldo, if he was guilty, he'd be bang to rights.
Irrespective of how desperate some people are for him to be guilty.

.
Which is why i pointed out that Ronaldo (like Greenwood) has also been called "alleged rapist".
There is a reason we have courts and a CPS, it's to prove/dis-prove allegations of crime. Unfortunately some people find an allegation proof enough to condemn a person.

This is about the standing of the club, not the player. Regrettably, in the modern day, regardless of the eventual outcome at trial he will still be a liability for the club and it's commercial partners, a number of whom have already terminated contracts with Greenwood. As Chief says, he will never play for the club again.

The club has already done what it needed to do by suspending the player. Let the court decide, then the club can take next action accordingly.

Well i asked a question twice yesterday and got no answer so i will try once more.
What's your opinion of having "alleged rapist" Ronaldo in the team or at the club?

Tbh I've got over my initial frustration about the CM and CF we should've addressed in this transfer window.

I think it's now time to get behind the manager, under difficult conditions, so that he has the full support of the fans... because to be honest he's going to need it <ok>

I don't disagree about the other positions but we definitely needed a CF. We create chances but can't score for ****.

Martial hopefully will do well, but we can't rely on him solely and a 37 year old CR.

I think some of us identified in the transfer window the need for a proper CF. Should we be prioritising this in the January transfer window? Someone like Toney. Brentford are trying to get him to sign a new contract. He'd be a superb buy for us.

And with Barca flopping completely in the CL and La Liga, and De Jong warming the bench, do we need to look at him again in the January transfer window?

Yes to both.

Fred McTominay not up to the required standard.

And we definitely need an actual centre forward, Martial can't be relied on to stay fit and Ronaldo is visibly showing his age now.

How can anyone who has heard this tape think that you need a court to decide whether he's a dirty raping scumbag? How could anyone want him back at the club regardless of what the court says after this?

Greenwood: Move ya ****ing legs.

Her: 'Mason No, I don't want to have sex'

Greenwood: I don't care what you ****ing want.
