I dont think the post had anything to do with racism at all.... maybe you had to see the accuracy of it to appreciate it...
I don't think the poster meant anything like that at all, but I do think it's likely the person that originally created the picture is probably a bit racist. It was deliberately parroting the 'they all look the same to me' trope, which has been used for years to undermine groups as not being important individuals in their own right. Even though it is widely accepted it is more difficult for people to differentiate between people from different origins to you, that is very different from creating something like that supposedly for a laugh. Fairly misogynistic too suggesting a woman looks like someone who has very obvious stubble. Ooooh she's not very attractive to me so she looks like a man... And patently bollocks too because they don't look anything like each other.
* 'Can look similar' were the words I used. It just shows what a minefield race can be these days. I'm also white and originally from Bransholme, but it's all our fight which is why, back in the day, I spent a weekend on the picket of South Africa House. Indeed, I was just trying to highlight what a minefield be it can be. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
The number of times I was told if I had bought a hard top with tinted windows I wouldn’t have caused so much disruption by being mistaken for some else. You can tell that one is me as the look alike was American driving left hand cars and that is a right hand drive one. please log in to view this image
