Samoa were odds on favourites to win the group which puts them into the quarters, which gives them a chance to do well.
By one of the fancied one assumes you mean fancied to win the competition we are playing in? 16/1 compared to the odds on Australia and New Zealand doesn’t suggest they are strongly fancied.
Samoa have a great xT rating, so, you know, their stats basically say what will, could or may happen.
