anyone check for the use of horse anti viral drugs and bleach as causes of the excessive Republican deaths?

but we all know in reality, there was no need for the republicans to use horse medicine. Unless it’s push was from GOP/president trump funding partners.
Good point, I don't even know if they introduced sunlight into their veins. Overall a nasty virus that isn't going away any time soon, stay safe over winter.

my issue is that the old people in need of help were denied such rights and dumped into care home which didnt have the facilities and obviously they died as a result..

The word 'dumped' - it's what many British families have done with their old folk for decades now. It's also a British society where we have actively changed and encouraged all members of the household to go out to work, so you no longer have the elderly nanny for the grandkids, and no longer the son or daughter to look after mum or dad when they get old.

My point being, blaming the government is merely the easy option, beyond sensible debate. Afterall raising the pension age was completely bonkers imho and is very much a false saving to the economy, especially one that has a habit of wasting billions, that I do blame the gov for.

Italy and Spain have a society that have more older family members staying at ‘home’ rather than being in care homes.

ultimately, The government made a number of errors and also some great decisions that saved more(vaccine push/securing multiple sources)

hindsight is a great thing to have, nearly as good as a flu jab and autumn covid booster.

Your first sentence I agree with and that was my thoughts when writing what I wrote - the only reason I didn't say it, was because I couldn't be arsed to look up proof via a link to evidence it.

So more so wrote observations of how I've seen our elderly as I feel dumped in care homes.

there is a push to ‘dump’ elderly family in the U.K. sure we could get percentages etc to show we are bad for it.
But that’s just the way our society is, to be fair, my parents are a pain so they are not coming to live with me when the time comes

Yeah, not coming to live with me. I’m shipping them out and taking their lovely place they now have on The Wirral.

Some people we dump in care homes, have mobility issues, maybe from a recent fall but we still dump them in a home, because well it's not convenient for one reason or another in today's society.

For me it's like the expectation of medical science, to cure our every human illness, where do we draw the line, we seem to constantly like to point fingers, rather than accept the fact we have come to expect too much, the longer we keep people alive, the more of a problem it will become.

Hence we can always use the government as a get of jail clause. I wonder how many of those patients put into care homes, could have been placed in the family home, afterall many were just sitting at home doing fook all in lockdown, is there any stats for that?

its good 2 talk fella and yeah even though we dont agree we can still do it in a civil manner...........my take on it....look past the headline and always read the article and dissect.

for me the testing is not the issue or the findings by the courts..............my issue is that the old people in need of help were denied such rights and dumped into care home which didnt have the facilities and obviously they died as a result.....now not only did the ones get dumped out of hospital most in care homes are frail in the first place so the denial of hospital treatment when needed was another death nail and again inflated figures which is the first wave..............now correct me if im wrong but i thought our health services where there 2 preserve life not end it.

Can't disagree that the elderly in care homes (who built and maintained our country through good and bad times) were treated appallingly

Just out of interest why do you think raising the pension age was bonkers ?

Just out of interest why do you think raising the pension age was bonkers ?

The list can be endless, where to start....particularly for women, grandparents that use to look after children, but told they now have to work an additional 6 or 7 years, so this has the knock on affect to the younger families, especially around the increase in child care facilities and associated costs.

Added to that, just because people live longer, which I believe is untrue anyway in this country or certainly the way it was portrayed for the convenience of increasing pension ages, does not mean they are healthier, so all it does is move the cost elsewhere, either in other government benefits or to their employer via sick benefits and added pressures on those claiming, through no fault of their own.

I think someone pointed out to me recently on here, if I lived in France, I would already be retired. Again it is something more likely to affect poorer people than richer people who have past private pension schemes, before the default option changed.

Also not forgetting the current government has wasted billions in recent years, look at the furlough scheme and the increased benefit schemes during coivd, and the payments to cover everyones energy costs, even if they don't need the money, funny how we find the money, that we previously never had. Probably still don't have but it suited the rhetoric at the time.

Nobody lives just on RP alone so if that is their only income they would also get Pension Credit unless they have a big amount in savings .
The cost of RP to the exchequer has risen from £40bn to £100bn just since 2011 and the present recipients on average will be getting it for getting on for 20 years on average .
On Govts spaffing billions on whatever they fancy there is no answer but "too ****ing right <grr> "
