Shall we give Dubravka a wave? Oh, wait, he probably won’t make it. Again. And the award for the weirdest move of the summer goes to….
Well Man U did beat us 4-1 at Old Trafford, and have new players too.... BUT we also have new players, and moreover the players won't have had a week off before this match: "It became a running joke (like so many other things…) under Steve Bruce and it came to a head when after a disastrous start to the season of three defeats and one draw, only two weeks into the season Bruce gave himself and all the non-international players and extended holiday. Instead of using the fortnight to do everything they could to prepare for the game at Man Utd, the players were given over a week off and Steve Bruce went on holiday to Portugal. As part of his excuse for doing so, the then Head Coach pointed to how many of his players were away on international duty BUT the truth was that only a small handful of them were and NONE of them were first team regulars. None of those away with their countries ahead of that Man Utd match started at Old Trafford, so Steve Bruce could have been working with his starting eleven for the full two weeks (with the odd day or two off). Newcastle United were hammered 4-1 at Old Trafford and not for the first or last time, the NUFC players didn’t look as fit as the opposition. This despite Man Utd having had countless players away on international duty."
Has he even made the ****in bench yet? It was Lindelof last week and Heaton this week... Does that make him 4th choice?
That really sums up how Bruce and Howe are poles apart. Bruce is a downright lazy twat, who thinks he just knows it all and that he is somehow owed for his knowledge and experience. He will fo the absolute bare minimum and then blame those around him for failure. The fact he went on holiday ahead of a game vs Man U just shows his lack of commitment. Howe is a scholar of the game. You hear him speak and he literally doesn't stop thinking about the game, or how to improve himself and those around him. He's out on the training ground as often as he can, or working with individual players, or the coaching staff, or looking at the analytics from the match data. He only wants to get better and better. And even in his own success, he is the first to deflect any praise towards the players, coaching staff, club and fans.
Please stop posting more than one sentence at a time, my head starts to hurt working out what the **** you meant to type rather than what you did type
Danny Rose said when he came on loan he couldn't believe how many days off he had under Bruce and how it was like a holiday for him. Nicely explains why there were so many occasions under Bruce that we looked off the pace, slow and turgid, the players clearly weren't match fit. I used to look at teams like Leicester and Liverpool and the speed they pressed teams, and we were a millions miles off that. All hail Howe. But yeah, Bruce doesn't have to change his style cos he's managed over 1000 games, so he "must be doing something right". Except he isn't.
That wasn't just lack of match fitness last season. That was dereliction of duty. Lack of match fitness might mean cramp kicking in around the hour mark, we had a team of professional athletes gasping for air inside 20 minutes.
He was on a little earlier. Amount he's working at the minute makes me suspect he's doing community service somewhere
Even more so now he'll be smelling all fresh and minty.........with all the chewing gum he's scraping off the streets
I think he's just busy reorganising his screenshot library so he can easily search by either date, username, thread title, topic, keywords, etc.
Yeah, it's not like the search facility doesn't do that anyway, I just like the idea he needs to keep dozens of hard drives going
I have visions of him operating in one of those dark security surveillance rooms with like 100 TV screens all active at once, covering every Not606 thread (including Mackems' forum), NUFC social media feeds, BBC football, SKY, etc. and 50 secret CCTV cameras in Luke Edwards' home.
