Saturday 8th October 5.30pm
Premier League
Amex Stadium

Too early for injury news yet, but it seems likely that Kulusevski and Moura will still be absent, at least.
Emerson Royal is suspended for this one, Everton and Man Utd.

Lineups for each side's last league game:

Spurs: Lloris; Romero, Dier, Lenglet; Emerson, Bentancur, Hojbjerg, Perisic; Richarlison, Kane, Son.
Subs: Forster, Doherty, Spence, Sanchez, Sessegnon, Skipp, Bissouma, Sarr, Gil.
League form: WWDWWL.

Brighton: Sanchez; Veltman, Dunk, Webster; March, Caicedo, Mac Allister, Estupinan; Gross, Trossard; Welbeck.
Subs: Steele, Lamptey, Colwill, Gilmour, Sarmiento, Lallana, Mitoma, Enciso, Undav.
League form: DWWLWD.

Ref: Tony Harrington. A pretty new Premier League ref who supports his native Hartlepool, apparently.
VAR: Stuart Attwell.

TV: Sky Sports.

How would you like to line up for this one?

The elation knowing we won’t see Emerson will be spoiled knowing that it’ll just be both LWBs playing whilst our two other RWBs play Uno, Perisic could do with a rest too. Imagine Dier could also be a doubt. Hopefully we see 352 but I won’t get my hopes up.

Lloris
Romero, Lenglet, Davies
Spence, Bentancur, Bissouma, Hojbjerg, Sess
Kane, Richarlison

Don't know what the mood of the team will be.
The impact of the coach's death will affect players differently, so it's pretty much impossible to assess whether that will overall provide a boost or a distraction.

You'd hope that on the back of an awful NLD performance and a meh CL effort there would be a strong response, but we won't know until after 5.30pm.

Unfortunately, my personal feeling is that Brighton will be 3 points better off at 7.15+ or so. <doh>

Reactions: The Changing Man
The obvious game to give Bissouma a start. He must be wondering what happened to be going from the main man to a seat on the bench. Either way this game will remind him.

Wouldn't he have to play in the first place in order to be failing to follow tactical instructions?

He came on as a sub in an earlier game but I also imagine this is something that can be picked up in training.

I’m not 100% convinced this is genuine but there is clearly an issue somewhere with certain players not being given an opportunity to play.

A "must win" on the "season compass" .
Brighton have quite good current form.
Growing concerns about Conte on squad rotation.

Today has < standard > written all over it, :(

Brighton are playing well and will have lots of confidence, won’t be easy but Spurs have to win today. Anything less and it will be a huge blow.

It wouldn't be ideal, but a draw wouldn't be a disaster. Brighton are a decent side.
The performance would be the decider in that situation, in my opinion.

Surely a good performance from Spurs would result in a win though. Brighton aren’t a bad team and doing well this season but if Spurs play well then that should be enough to see them off

Doherty, Bissouma and Ben Davies starting.

Conte has surprised me in a good way with this team selection. Would have preferred Perisic to Sessegnon as LWB but least makes the bench stronger I guess
