Watched a piece last night from Keith Downie in which he said in regards Maddison. The club could have had him in the summer, they knew the price they needed to pay and they refused for whatever reason to put the extra £10m down. He now thinks it's dead. I reckon they felt Almiron had one last chance in him to prove he can do it. He had a stellar preseason to be fair and although he’s had his usual Almiron moments, hes been pretty decent overall.
I think they all just looked closely at it then settled on the fact Wood is useless so spent the rest of the calendar year budget on Isak. If we beat Brentford we go to Man U beaten (dubiously) once, 3-5-1 record. If we win a few more even defeat at OT has us with a European placement first quarter.

I think with Krafth out we have a little bit of a problem at right back. I constantly feel on edge about Trippier getting injured. Maybe if we saw a bit more of Manquillo from time to time that would help but maybe an area we should invest in
