Just had a quick look at Preston's stats and they're a bit strange.

Their last three games have been at home where they only managed a single point.

In each game they've only had three attempts on target scoring only once.

I'm not one for believing in jinxes so I'm going to say, that's rotten form.

Having said that, fair play to them for bringing 3000 supporters when their last home game only had around 16,000 of them ...

Yeah, their away form is much better in terms of results (2 wins, 2 draws, 0 losses) but only 2 goals scored and 0 against. Now sure how many attempts they have had.

However, play like we have in our last 3 home games then I am confident that record will suffer.

Saturday can't come quick enough, can't be bothered with international breaks and pretend friendlies.

Looking forward to seeing the lads live after the last 2 performances. New seats will get their first go and hoping to meet up with an old friend before the game as well

Same here on both counts, sad when internationals have become a tedious chore but great when you're counting the days down to a Sunderland match.

I tried to make arrangements but just can't manage to get up ...

... I just hope there's another massive crowd, great atmosphere and the home fans see what's fired up the travelling support so much.

We’ve started well but these 2 home games are huge coming up. Despite a good start we’re only 3 points ahead of 17th placed Birmingham. It’s really tight, I just hope we can pick up a minimum of 4 points over the next week or so and we’ll be sat nicely in the top 8.

Used to be after 10 games the league was sorting itself out and you could gauge how happy or otherwise you were with your clubs start.
This league is as tight as we had in league 1 so a review after 20 games might give us a clearer picture, but that’s nearly half a season which is quite frightening

I'm encouraged by the fact that we missed out on four home points when we could've won. Even at Sheff Utd I felt we were always in the game. Only Boro felt poor but we seem to be learning every game. Reading was wonderful but Watford pleased me more because of how we came back twice.

We haven’t deserved to lose a single league game this season imho. I was really annoyed about the performance at Boro but it was massively unlucky to lose Stewart just before KO - it’s no wonder we weren’t great.

Yip. The players want to play for him. Ross, too inexperienced, Parkinson, god no, Johnson was nearly there, Neil had it but didn't want it but Mowbray seems the right fit.

Tony Mowbray has issued a brief injury update ahead of Saturday’s return to Wearside action against Preston North End.



The Head Coach sat down with safc.com on Monday as the international break comes to a close, and delivered the latest on his recovering players.



“Ellis [Simms] is progressing and will hopefully be a bit closer – we’ll have to wait and see.



“Dennis Cirkin is back out on the grass which is great for us, and he knows the competition too with Aji Alese’s performances.



“We have options going forward with our wide attackers and our number 10s, so we’ll be sure to adapt.”
