Eh? I can manage my enormous workload just fine thanks, but with along with that, the 100 miles I live from St Mary's, the lack of money and all the other things going on in my life, I can't always make it down. You tell me I need to get better organised because there are things in my life which I consider to be greater priorities than travelling 100 miles to watch a game of football on a Tuesday? And you think you're in a position where you can lecture me on the skills I need to work in law? You are a complete tool. I'm sorry if your life is so empty that football takes top priority, but there's a lot going on in mine which takes precedence.
Never ever apologise and never explain. People can take it or leave but they know in their heart of hearts that I am right!
Actually isn't that why we have a Forum such as this to accommodate for people if they cannot get to the match? Criticising people for not turning up is a bit harsh in this economic climate me thinks. Would you include me in that criticism As I am down in Oz visiting family? Surely not......I was there in spirit if not in body!!
I can't believe that a Saints fan would seriously berate others for not going to a game. She must have been too long on the Leeds board. I'm a Saints fan mate and I'm present at every game, even when I can't get to the ground. Spare me the sermonising.
Very simple: When I go, we lose. I haven't been to a home game for some time now...do you want me to start going again?
how sad some people's views are. All I shall say is this: I've not been there I've not done that I have however got the 'T-shirt' which I believe goes into the coffers. Sacrifice blah blah. I sacrifice luxuries already so my kids can go to after school classes and wot not which cost ridiculous amounts these days and not pennies like when I was their age (or half a crown a yearwhen you were.) Oh.............plus I live up narth and the train fare is £40!!! I shall be going to the Forest away game though
I see that St Goodness has changed his name again to "the devil's advocate". Bearing in mind the reaction from some to this post, could he, perchance, be trying to tell us something?
Well said. As for me, the recession has caught up with me and I am now 'between jobs'. Therefore I can't go to the football as often I would like because more important things take priority. Having said that, why do we feel the need to justify ourselves to others? To strangers?
I am going to collect my Coventry tickets this afternoon on my lunch break! I had an 11th hour change of heart and I can't afford to go to be fair! I'm 24, have an average paid job, a mortgage, a car to run and an expensive girlfriend who is expensive to maintain at the best of times nevermind when her 21st birthday is only a couple of weeks away....however I do see teams like Coventry laying on tickets at £16.00 for the more mature fan...oh the irony.... You end making a saving when most over 60s outgoings a month could be spent with loose change!!!! But I'm not bitter hahaha!!! Devils advocate how are you getting to the game? We have a spare seat going, you can tell me all about your hardships? Haha
I am lucky enough to be a season ticket holder so was there, but, everyone has their reasons, let's not be stupid and accuse them of being worser fans for not attending, I am fairly sure all saints fans on here would like to go to every game, however its not realistic. Not the most attractive fixture, 2 games in 4 games, tuesday night and about 50 Peterborough fans none of which will have helped the overall attendance. I can take gripes about the attendance but about our fans, let's not be daft.
Considering the opposition seemed to just bring family and friends I'd say it wasn't too bad. I was there as I never miss an evening game if I can help it.
